Poll: Half of 'Birthers' Call it 'Suspicion'; A Third Approve of Obama Anyway

Obama's Birthplace Has Been Subject of Controversy Since Election

###

Excerpt:

Fourteen percent of Americans say without prompting that they think Barack Obama was born in another country, rising to one in five when those with no opinion are offered that as a possibility. But for many it's not a firm belief – and some appear not to hold it against him.

Among those inclined to think Obama was born abroad, half also say that's their suspicion only, not a judgment based on solid evidence, the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll finds. And perhaps surprisingly, about a third of so-called "birthers" nonetheless approve of Obama's work in office and express a favorable opinion of him personally.

Certainly it would be helpful if Beck were to take on the BC question — but then who would do the magnificent work he is doing in unmasking the nefarious deeds underway in this corrupt administration?

Let’s leave Beck alone. He doesn’t need distractions, just support. Let others keep digging into Barry 0’s past.

Obama’s dad wasn’t a citizen.
That eliminates Obama from “Natural Born” status.

This does not seem to matter and no amount of yapping by lunatic dentists will change that.

It’s like throwing a glass of water on a house fire.
It ain’t gonna work.

We must wait for the fire to burn out.

Any sensible American should be a ‘birther’ until Obama can prove that his suspicion is unfounded. Possibly all Americans are ‘birthers’ but few are interested in knowing the truth.

And government is not helping out, either.

Glenn has failed to anger me when it comes to “birthers”.

But the one who manages to send me to nail spitting and a desire to stick a boot up his butt, is Michael Medved. I only listen to him because my local has him on when I am doing my afternoon driving chore, and by the time I pick up my wife, I’m screaming at the radio...

I'm just watching Beck on TV and he said that he asked a staffer how he could bring down the globalist conspiracy “and expect to live” (the global Cloward-Piven conspiracy that he is in the process of explaining in greater detail this week).

The staffer said to Beck something like “You can't just wound this beast, you have to take it down.”

When Beck said this I wondered whether it had yet occurred to Beck that the “birther” claims of illegitimacy could, in the court of public opinion if not in federal court, be the best way to take down the Obama machine quickly as we may not have the luxury of waiting until 2012 to prevent permanent damage.

Now you have posted this great video in which Beck appears to be laying the groundwork for a pivot by him to explore the veracity of birther claims.

From memory Beck said something like “The Birthers have been discredited. They have that “-er” suffix. Or have they?” And then he went on.

If Beck is going to “go rogue” and explore birther issues honestly without mocking framing up front it will because Roger Ailes has now given his blessing. Maybe he read the Kenyan presidential candidate's declaration that Obama was born there.

This is so frustrating... The media continues to frame the story and miss the important points.

The birthplace doesn’t matter — not in the least. Obama was born a subject of the United Kingdom at birth. Thus, he is not a natural born citizen. He was born with dual allegiance, at the least, and may not have been able to claim US citizenship because of the laws on the books in 1961, and his mother’s age and length of residence in the state.

Ahhh... darn... I thought Beck was going to admit he’s at least leaning towards being a birther.

He just talked about the polling data, and kept himself conveniently neutral.

Time after time Today and 234 years ago, we see that one-third ratio repeated, over and over and over again. It's an inseparable part of the American political psyche ...

At the outset of the Revolutionary War:

- one-third of the public were Patriots, proclaiming the Declaration of Independence on
July 4, 1776 and jabbing their collective finger in the very eyes of Tyranny

- one-third of the public were Tories, loyal to the King and the yoke of Government control (Patriot Nathan Hale's own Tory cousin Samuel Hale exposed him, leading to Hale's capture and hanging by the British in NY on September 22, 1776)

- one-third were along for the ride! (today's Independents, who drift from Left to Right)

The Patriots had to drag the rest of the Colonists (in some cases kicking and screaming) into the Declaration of Independence. The same will be borne out with Obama's Eligibility ... we will likely NEVER achieve a clear "majority" to accomplish what MUST be done to restore the Constitution against a Usurper who would NEVER leave of his own accord; few politicians will have the political courage to force him to leave office.

They must be "forced" to do so via unyielding political pressure, as they may "forget" after November 2010.

In the end, the Minority acts as the Majority when:
1) they are on the side of the Truth;
2) they can sway a good portion of Independents to their cause; and
3) they can YELL LOUDER than their political opposition!

Oh, my STARWISE, you labeled this as Glenn's Birther Revelation (Video), but you didn't quote Beck; you cherry-picked some stats from  the ABC/WaPo poll.  That's misleading, I'm afraid.

Here what Beck actually said in that video clip about the same poll revealing some "inconvenient truths about birhers" --

We know the birth certificate people have been discredited.

According to an ABC pool, one-third of all those who say Obama might have been born in another country, approve of how he is handling his job as president. They have favororable reviews of him personally, and favor him over Congressional Republicans when it comes to dealing with issue No. 1, the economy.

Now you'd think that in the America we grew up in, that would be a huge story -- [that] even a third of people who like Obama think he might have been born in Kenya?

Have you seen this anywhere in the media?*  No. Of course not. There's even more...our own resident geek, Stu, analyzed the poll and found that
only 38% of birthers are Republicans. The other 62% are not.

So if you meet a birther, not only are you in for some annoying conversation, but there's also a good chance that there not one of the "racist red-staters." Let that one marinate.

* or at FR?

So which of you birthers who obsess on these  threads 24/7 are Democrats? Liberals? Fess up! Turn yourself into JR, and let the closet-cleaning begin.

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH~

When are people gonna get that it is NOT where he was born!

Its the fact that his father was BRITISH that disqualifies Obama~!!!

You cannot be a Natural Born Citizen if you are BORN with TWO citizenships!!! It is the instant of birth that determines this status. No other.

He knows that the usurper is NOT a NBC, and so does Rush and the other talking heads at FOX, etc.!

A quarter+-billion dollars contract for Glenn Book and close to a half billion dollars for Rush making it easy for them to sell out their principles (souls) at the back door!!

Principles vs. almighty dollar$ speaks volume, hello!!!
