It is within the power of the ACC to do this. Pierce just needs to get two other commissioners to agree with him.

This demonstrates that LA is like a spoiled child and never grew up. Although I am tempted to say that you're describing the entire state of California, that's not accurate.
Just the ignorant doofuses in the four metropolitan areas, driven by welfare recipients and other tax parasites, like public employees :
Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego...

I hope Arizona does cut off the power to Los Angeles. LA is already in the dark, anyway. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Notice how this story (and the other one on CNN) play the angle: it's the AZ guy who "threatens" the city of L.A. as "retribution".
In fact, the AZ guy simply said "If you're going to boycott, boycott all the way and don't buy our electricity. Consider the consequences."
Not exactly a "threat".

Do it! One boycott is as good as another! Let those idiots in LA sweat a little.

Hollywood won’t have enough power to produce their poisonous propaganda?
Now Arizona’s gonna have the whole country backing it up.

I ran a search on the headline before I posted — nothing came up.

Guy walks into a cafe in Moscow, and asks the keeper for a copy of today's
Tass. The shopkeeper says, "This isn't the Soviet Union anymore...there is no
Tass."
The next day, same guy walks into the Cafe and again asks for a copy of today's Tass. The shopkeeper, a little annoyed, replies "As I told you yesterday, there is no Tass."
The day after that, the same guy walks in the cafe and again asks for Tass. The shopkeeper, more than a little annoyed, says, "Look, you've been in here for several days asking for Tass. I keep telling you, there is no Soviet Union, no Tass, and there never will be Tass!
The guy says, "I know that. I just enjoy hearing you say it."

Given the price of electricity in CA, I imagine AZ based electric power generators make a lot of money off of sales into CA. Given the damage that would do to AZ based power generators, I doubt that you will find two other commisioners to jump on board.

That’s my assumption. Also, Arizona Public Service would probably fight an embargo, because they’re the operators making the $$$ from Palo Verde.

Although I am tempted to say that you're describing the entire state of California, that's not accurate. Here's proof:
Striking back at so-called sanctuary cities, the Costa Mesa City Council declared Costa Mesa a "Rule of Law" city, setting itself up as a lightning rod in the latest wave of debate over immigration reform, it was reported today. The vote came last night at the urging of Mayor Allan Mansoor, who was condemned by the Orange County branch of the Anti-Defamation League in April when he called for city efforts to help enforce immigration laws.
See http://www.scpr.org/news/2010/05/19/costa-mesa-city-council-declares-costa-mesa-rule-l/ for the whole story.

“AZ based electric power generators make a lot of money off of sales into CA.”
Actually, they’re taking alot of IOUs.
To: NC28203
However a rate increase wouldn’t be too bad of an alternative. Increase the rate to make up the difference in lost revenue from any boycott.
