California employers added jobs for the fourth straight month in April as the state's sluggish labor market continued to show signs of life.
California's unemployment rate remained unchanged from March, at 12.6%.
Payrolls increased by 14,200 in April, bringing the total number of jobs added this year to 56,400, according to the state Employment Development Department. Despite the gains, however, California companies still employ 1.3 million fewer people than they did when employment peaked in July of 2007.

If you removed illegal immigrants...wouldn’t that add more jobs to the job sector...by forcing folks to hire Americans rather than finding ways to avoid social security and income tax requirements?
In the real world...it’d work that way.

How many college graduates in CA in May and June? 12,000 doesn’t come close to the number of people now looking for jobs.

I call BS. Seriously. How STUPID does the media think we are? (Don’t answer that, LOL!)
EVERY state is in a world of hurt. Page down for the FACTS on unemployment percentages by state. CA has lost 355,000 jobs in ONE YEAR! The only state that has gained jobs is North Dakota - a lousy 6,000 in the past YEAR.

‘In another encouraging sign, a separate federal survey of households indicated that the number of people working in California increased by 76,000 in April. That survey includes people who are self-employed.’
Out of the 76,000, 70,000 became self-employed.

"California's government sector added the most jobs in April, 14,000, driven largely by temporary hiring for the 2010 census. The professional and business services sector added 3,100 jobs, while the leisure and hospitality industry added 9,300."
I thought that census workers were federal employees. The states have them too? Gads.

The LSM NEVER points out that when 150,000 “new” jobs are “created”, they make it sound like this is a gain on the jobs deficit. In reality, just the new people entering the jobs market from graduating high school or college averages 250,000 new jobs required every month, just to break even and not raise the overall unemployment rate.
They twist these reports and word them in such a way that compels the average stupid Amerikan to assume that these “new” jobs are a surplus to this base number of 250,000.
But of course, the elections are getting very close and there are countless lies to sell and propaganda to distribute for the DNC.

Of course, they were probably saying the same thing in North Korea where conditions are so bad the peasants are eating grass.

I’d argue that Census hiring is part of the leisure sector of the economy.

What we need is a work project like the Hoover
Dam, or building interstates would use them) or water dams for electricity. Think are are filled up with those however we do need a fence along the border, the entire border and then one to the north. Construction jobs, high tech for security and monitoring, materials to build the fence, only American companies need apply.
Rather do that than give the money to BofA.

Well, I work in a defence industry here. And the Arab countries are buying missiles that weigh ~4 tons. Those Arabs hate Iran more than Israel. Israel does not insult them like Iran does.
When the whip comes down, the Arabs and Israel will destroy Iran together. After that's done, the Arabs and Jews will go back to calling each other names again.
Adult men should reach a point when they become intelligent.

I know an ex-realtor out of work for 2 years. Here savings and 401k are spent. She’s hurting. She has taken to renting a room in her condo to her sister to make ends meet.
