Comedy Central Mocks Jesus (But Respects Islam) -- SIGN PROTEST

TFP Student Action is urging Comedy Central to cancel the production of a new cartoon series called JC that mocks Our Lord Jesus Christ. According to press reports, Comedy Central writers are describing the new series JC as “a playful take on religion and society with a sprinkle of dumb.”

For example, God the Father is shown as someone who is lazy, plays video games and neglects his son. In turn, Jesus is distant from his powerful and lazy father, and tries to become a regular guy in New York City.

Since final approval at Comedy Central for JC is still pending, please:

The Blatant Double Standard

Time and time again, Comedy Central has censored images of Muhammad on its program South Park. Yet they allow Our Lord Jesus Christ to be mocked and insulted without scruples. For example, Comedy Central ran "Sacrilicious Sunday," a series of shows highly offensive to Catholics.

COMEDY???? I doubt it. Comedy is funny. Not assinine.
Idiots afraid of religion. Pure and simple. So they mock it and laugh at it. I don’t mind. They might though when they realize later that God was watching.

I think anything, even religion, is open to satire. Go ahead and mock God or Jesus—They’ll take names!

But it’s rank, utter, blatant hypocrisy to allow an entire series mocking Jesus Christ while censoring the mere image of Mo.

That’s what’s wrong about this!

If we don’t like it when they concede to Muslim demands of censorship, what right do we have to ask them to censor shows that make fun of Jesus?

I won't protest - go ahead CC...yuk it up. See what happens.

As long the World craps all over my faith, I know I'm on the right path. Jesus himself said something along those lines...

Now where’s the State Department which a few short articles back of this one that said no speech is to be offensive to any religion?

Cowardly Central has outed themselves as being nothing more than a bunch of sniveling, degenerate nancy-boys. They’re simply pathetic.

The reason we don’t mock mohamed is because we are scared shitless of the muslims. Why is their God any better than any
other God? Because we are nice people and we don’t want to offend the muslims. However they can offend to their hearts content, we are gutless placaters. Crap all over us we’re nice people. Wake up!!!!!!!

Hahah...how brave and “cool” of them to recognize that Christians won’t be chopping off their heads. However, they cower from the Muslims. That is probably comedy there—seeing cowards is pretty funny.

Email protests and the like are exactly the proof Comedy Central counts on to continue their attacks. A harmless Internet protest probably makes them giddy. About the only thing they’re probably afraid of short of losing their heads is losing their sponsors.

Simple: our threat is to their ratings, not their necks.
