U.S. Selective Service in Obama cover-up?
WND ^

Posted on 05/23/2010 4:36:17 PM PDT by Retired Intelligence Officer

Is the U.S. Selective Service System now blocking access to President Barack Obama's online registration records?

Members of the public searching the federal database for the commander in chief's registration are suddenly finding new difficulty, possibly due to the startling revelation of Obama's alleged use of a Connecticut-based Social Security Number.

The Selective Service System, or SSS, collects names of Americans for use by the Department of Defense in the event of a national emergency. On its website, it says it provides the nation "with a structure and a system of guidelines which will provide the most prompt, efficient, and equitable draft possible, if the country should need it."

Snip>

The problems using the SSS search engine come in the wake of WND's disclosure that two private investigators working independently are wondering why Obama is using a Social Security Number set aside for applicants in Connecticut while there is no record he ever had a mailing address in the state.

The stunning revelation apparently prompted Internet giant Google to clamp down specifically on WND's report and warn that some sites carrying information on the situation "may harm your computer."

The Social Security website confirms the first three numbers in his ID are reserved for applicants with Connecticut addresses, 040-049.

"Since 1973, Social Security numbers have been issued by our central office," the Social Security website explains. "The first three (3) digits of a person's social security number are determined by the ZIP code of the mailing address shown on the application for a social security number."

The question is being raised amid speculation about the president's history fueled by an extraordinary lack of public documentation. Along with his original birth certificate, Obama also has not released educational records, scholarly articles, passport documents, medical records

Yes. Do you have a link re the foreign student getting assigned a 999#? I don’t remember reading that, just the statement that no SS#’s begin with it. If true plus Stankey has proof BO used one then that’s one more PROVEN reason he is not eligible along with his Kenyan father being the other.

No offense but, I don't follow URL's to unknown offsite locations without explanations.

It shows the selective service records, plus explains the procedures used by Social Security in issuing numbers.

What I do know is the first three digits of a SSN are assigned by state and your SSN tracks to your state of residence where you resided before a certain date and afterwards where you were born when you where first claimed on a tax return as a dependent.

Not quite. Before 1973, It indicated the location of the office that issued your card that was generally in your home state. After '73, when processing was centralized, it indicated the state where you, or your parents, had the card mailed to. However it was some time after that before it became routine to get a SSN for a baby. You didn't need one for dependents listed your tax return until 1987.

We know that The Won worked in a Baskin-Robbins in Hawaii, so he would have needed a SSN at that time. He graduated from high school in '79, so it would have probably been '78 or a bit earlier when he got his SSN.

So, what was he doing having it mailed to a Connecticut address? Since that was well after '73 (when he would have been 12) when the numbers shifted from being representative of the SS office that issued the card, to being tied to the mailing address on the application.

Neil Sankey, formerly employed by Scotland Yard, was hired by Orly Taitz to look into Obama’s background.

Sankey found many SSNs. The list of them was submitted as evidence in a civil trial in California over a year ago.

I don’t have any direct links but provided enough information so you can do searches. The following online sites are good places to start:

Good luck!

What does not living in CT have to do with a SSN that comes from a branch located in CT? Nothing. This has been explained numerous times on other threads. You can also do a google and get info to see how the system worked prior to 1971. At that time the SSN area number (1st 3 digits) had nothing to do with a person's address. It represented the branch that assigned the number. Normally one would expect a SS branch closer to Hawaii than CT would have handled it but who knows what happened. This in of itself means nothing.

In '73, Obama turned 12. (in '71 he turned 10) In those days you did not need a SSN for a dependent. Nor for a passport. You didn't need one until you started working. So unless you think he got his job at Basking Robbins when he was 11 or 12, his number would reflect his mailing address on the application. So when did he have a CT mailing address?

“...if you have a SSN, then you are not ‘foreign’.”

That isn’t true. When I was in the Navy stationed overseas, there was a Spanish national working in the same office with me, who was a U.S. Federal employee and said she possessed a SSN number and paid SSN taxes.

It usually matched your home state because the SS office in your state is more likely to have processed it. see link at post 43

You are assuming BO got his SSN Before '72. He was 11 in '72. Back then you didn't get one until you started having an income. They were not required for dependents until the mid '80s.

But nice try.

So do I, so does everyone in my family and every person I know that I have discussed this with.

At worst you'd expect an adjacent state, if it was more convienient, such as being closer, than the SSA office in your state. But No other state is convienient to Hawaii. But that would only be until they changed the referance point from the office that issued the card to the mailing address on the application. ('73) After then, you'd need to be living in that state. Unless BO didn't get his SSN until he went to Columbia, and then for some reason had a PO box in CT, or a friends address there. But the draft registration information has him using that SSN, in 1980, when he at Occidental college, and he would have needed "a" SSN when he went to work in Hawaii, supposedly for Baskin-Robbins.

Remember that he changed the spelling of his name somewhere along the way from Barak to Barack? BO Sr., IIRC, was Barak and that is the way we see it most of the time. Why, I wonder, did BHO change it to Barack?

I, for one, do not believe he did so in 1980.
He appeared on ABC with Georgie on Sept 7, 2008 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzJfkdwEty0 ) in which he told Georgie that he had to sign up for the selective service right after he graduated in 1979. OOPS!

Hear is the lowdown again as it pertains to Coffman’s FOIA request per DebSchlussel:

A friend of mine, who is a retired federal agent, spent almost a year trying to obtain this document through a Freedom of Information Act request, and, after much stonewalling, finally received it and released it to me.
But the release of Obama’s draft registration and an accompanying document, posted below, raises more questions than it answers. And it shows many signs of fraud, not to mention putting the lie to Obama’s claim that he registered for the draft in June 1979, before it was required by law.
(snip)

* The Selective Service Data Mgt. Center Stonewalled for Almost a Year on Obama Registration, Until Right Before the Election.
The retired federal agent who FOIA’d Barack Obama’s Selective Service Registration Form notes:

Early this year, when I first started questioning whether Obama registered I was told:

Sir: There may be an error in his file or many other reasons why his registration cannot be confirmed on-line. However, I did confirm with our Data Management Center that he is, indeed, registered with the Selective Service System, in compliance with Federal law.
Sincerely,
Janice L. Hughes/SSS

Then, they suddenly found the record on September 9, 2008 (prior to my October 13, 2008 request), and stated that his record was filed on September 4, 1980. Did they temporarily change the date on the computer database?
On the previous FOIA response, they stated that it was filed on September 4, 1980. In my second request I mentioned that Obama could not have filed it in Hawaii on September 4, 1980 as he was attending Occidental College in California, the classes of which commenced August 24, 1980.

Coffman posted at Obama’s site during the campaign when the SS office was stone walling in releasing Obama’s SS records:

Selective Service and the Draft
By User from Magnolia, TX - Jul 3, 2008 9:25:01 AM ET

In 1980, President Carter re-instituted the requirement for males to register for the Selective Service (Proclamation 4771).

Under this Senator Obama was legally required to register during July 1980.

There is no record of his registering and his campaign will not address the issue.

So how do we respond to McCain supporters who post negative remarks about Senator Obama’s lack of military experience and his refusal to even register?

According to the Selective Service, approximately 23% of the males who were required to register, did not register. That means that about 800,000 failed to register that year.

Should Senator Obama make a statement about why he did not register for Selective Service?

Just makes ya go hmmm, doesn't it

This whole question about Selective Service registration gets curiouser and couriouser. Just discovered the info below and thought you would like to see it.

At The Obama File site there is a section about eligibility. I’ve provided a link but thought you’ld like to know what it is first.

It involves a copy of Obama’s selctive service application. No surprise, but he didn’t provide any identification documents, so the SS application is invalid. Because he doesn’t supply ID he isn’t eligible to hold political office, period.

No Identification - Again

Indeed, it makes me go “hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm”.

I have sent all this information to my elected officials in DC numerous times to only get a regurgitated form letter. When the name JOHN THUNE comes up as a presidential candidate in 2012..run the other way!

Really? John Thune is brain dead?

How disappointing. So is Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly. I started doing Obama background research in early February 2008. Immediately started finding emails and links to inform Rush and Bill.

They never used any of it, not at all, and I have no idea why.

What do they know about our government that we don’t know.

“Immediately started finding emails and links to inform Rush and Bill.” That should read, “Immediately started finding information and sent emails and links to inform Rush and Bill.”

So sorry for the errors.

I found this @ http://www.sinclair.edu/admissions/pub/old/intladm/f1taxes.htm :

Employment & Social Security Numbers

International students indicate on the Form I-20 that they already have support money and will not need employment. Do not count on employment to support your studies. Off-campus employment is illegal during your first nine months in student status. However, you may work on campus if jobs are available. You first must obtain a valid social security number. If you were assigned a temporary 999-99-XXXX number for use at Sinclair, you cannot use that number for employment.

To obtain a US social security number, you must be in valid F1 nonimmigrant status. You may apply at the Social Security Administration office, which is located in the federal building on the corner of Perry and Third streets. The official address is 200 W. Second St., Dayton, OH 45402. It is the brown highrise building with a US post office branch on the first floor, which is diagonally across Third St. from Sinclair's campus.

You will need to bring the following information with you when you apply for the social security number.

1. passport
2. I-94 card
3. I-20 form
4. letter from the foreign student advisor verifying that you are eligible for employment at Sinclair

You will receive your social security number card in the mail in approximately 7-10 business days. If you wish to use your social security number instead of the 999-99-XXXX assigned to you at Sinclair, bring your card and photo ID with you to the office of Registration & Student Records. You must complete a social security number correction form and present it at the counter along with your card and photo ID.

You must have a social security number to file a federal tax return for a refund of taxes to you.

...so yes it is true about the temporary 999 assignment numbers for International students. And Barry was over the age of 18.

Back in 1966, we were all required to register for the draft on our eighteenth birthday. It could be done at the Post Office, the high school or various other places....but it was mandatory. It was the same, decades later when my son turned 18, in the 21st century. Just a thought.

Registration was suspened for a few years after Vietnam. They then did a catch up, which resulted in men born in '61 registering in '80, as did those born in '60. Those born in '62 registered in early '81. Then it resumed being with X days of your 18th birthday.

I remember going down to the SSS office in '67.

Thanks for the tune up.

I do remember when the draft was suspended and went to a lottery system, birthdates. I was overseas when I got a letter from a HS buddy. He told me that my birthday came up #365 on the lottery, two years later. (Didn't know that SS registration was suspended though.)
