I was driving from Concepcion de Oro (Zacatecas) to Saltillo several years ago when I had to stop for a bunch of guys with Uzis and t-shirts that said POLICIA. I didn’t have anything worth stealing, so I passed on through. Still not sure if they were police.

After I went into a KFC bathroom and saw what I saw, I vowed never to set foot in Mexico or the Nogales KFC again. Since then, what I saw in that bathroom has migrated up here to Chandler.

Just out of curiosity, what did you see in that bathroom? Private mail if you wish. Thanks.

Dirty, feces soiled toilet paper thrown all over the floor and around the garbage can, instead of flushing. Third World “crap”. Then saw a sign in the bathroom, no language, just a picture with a circle around a garbage can, with soiled toilet paper in the can and around it, then with a line drawn across.

Fast forward to 2003, when I was doing my ESL practicum at the poorest, highest ESL, highest Govt. free breakfast/lunch, lowest scores in the district School. I had to go into the bathroom to roust out some of my first graders. The school had those same damn signs, in the school bathroom. In Chandler. That was the first time that I had seen those damn signs up here. You know a neighborhood and school are going Third World when you have to post a sign like that.

30 years ago, we used to drive from Phoenix or Tucson down to Rocky Point Mexico. Even back then, I would never drive that road at night. Drunk drivers and banditos. So now its crooked cops and/or banditos?

Many years ago...I surfed up and down the coast of Baja. Never personally had interaction with the Federale's...

Although I heard they came into camp many times...with machine guns slung on their shoulders.

I was always surfing...and never saw them. Times were different then...but still could be dangerous..if you were stupid.
