OMG, that’s right Judith. It was before John programmed the site to close tags in replies. I remember Laz creating a HTML bomb for us to use when FR was bombarbed with HTML trolling during the March for Justice. Several freepers spent the day using his code.

I remember when FR was still so small that on an average day there would be like...30 threads or less —the ENTIRE day..!

EVERYONE knew one another.

I remember when Drudge was still getting like 100,000 hits per day.

FR grew. When that happened, there were weird waves of people bidding goodbye, “cuz now everything sucks here, and it’s not like before...”.

See, but then they’d keep coming BACK, saying goodbye MORE AND MORE —very annoying.

I remember, “BTTT”..! ;) Ah good times..!

I remember being able to read every thread and every reply each day. I also remember recognizing almost every poster name.

Those days are long gone.

I bumped into you at the Nob Hill Clinton protest.

Never protested anything before but screamed my lungs out.

Was I in the Chinese General outfit? I think General Chang might have come to live sometime after that...

No wait, I was interviewed, and later told 5 seconds of it got onto World News with Peter Jennings, or something.

I was jumping around making a ridiculous Chinese accent (this was during the Johnny Huange missles for cash days).

Come to think of it, yes you did.

I had my kids with me. They were confused by the whole thing but for me it was a real catharsis.

I have seen looter guy show up recently in a few places here on FR...

it has changed ALOT here in the last 11 years, but it is still my first stop for news, etc..

Good times, indeed

Anyone else remember when Lucianne used to post (before the split)? And JR would post and some Freepers started getting good at PhotoShop (All your base, etc. :-) ). Slick Willie was going to put us all in lockdown when Y2K came around. Personally, I’m beginning to appreciate the Schlickmiester more and more as Obama’s term continues. :-(

I loved A+Bert when he was sober!

When he was sober he was good

When he was not he was better!
