Gulf Oil Spill: 'This is Literally a War We're In'
ABC News ^ | May 31, 2010 | By MATT GUTMAN and SARAH NETTER

As BP prepares to launch its seventh and riskiest plan to halt the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, calls on the White House to intervene are growing.

"This is literally a war we're in," Democratic strategist James Carville told "Good Morning America" today. "There are foreign substances invading our coastline."

Last week, Carville called President Obama's response to what is poised to become the country's biggest environmental disaster on record "lackadaisical."

Today he said Obama was doing "better," but said it's clear BP has lost control of the situation.

"I do know, for too long, they were taking BP's word for everything which turned out to be wrong at every junction," Carville said. "It's all turned out on the wrong side."

He said Obama needs to tell Americans exactly what is happening with relief efforts and why the gulf region is so important to the country's economy and environment.

"I think the president has to address the nation," Carville said. "His legacy depends on what happens with the oil in the Gulf of Mexico."

This is the Left's way of using the press to tell Zero how he should manage the spill and show that he is in "charge". Their only way is for the government to take control.

Big Government. it's what the Left believes is the only solution for every problem.

Yes, friend, it is really amazing that such an anti-American (Jeremiah “Hater” Wright) ineffective “would be” destroyer of America could have been elected to the highest office in our nation by the voters of the USA. Sad commentary on our people and the USA!!! Yes, BP is also a culprit, but nowhere near the failure and destroyer of our wetlands then POTUS Barack Hussein Obama, the Muslim at heart and soul!!! He don’t like Cajuns, He don’t like Rednecks, He don’t like White folks and, He certainly don’t like Jewish folks. Shucks, Obama is a kindred spirit, of Rev. Jeremiah Wright & Louis Farakhan. You know, birds of a feather flock together!!! America, haters, all of them!!!

Something tells me that the Emanuel declaration of not letting a crisis go to waste, may draw some ugly responses from the administration now...........

Emanuel = A$$ His day soon come.

We should all send feathers and bus tickets to the whitehouse, to go with that tar.

Just think if this oil well been successfully tapped and the oil had been refined and expelled into the atmosphere as normally intended. Al Gore must be giddy as a school girl over the ongoing results of this catastrophe.

I see that Carville has softened a bit on his previous harsh words for the Zero. Rahm must have paid him a “visit” recently to remind him to fall in line.

My sympathies and prayers to our fellow citizens who are suffering because of this ghastly catastrophe. I hope that Carville uses this time to reflect upon his efforts to support and elect corrupt, perjuring, and incompetent people to the White House. It took a while, but a perfect storm is in place. This storm began long ago, and people like Carville seeded the clouds.

Open borders, Carville.

The gov't has no interest in protecting the borders.

Yeah, I don’t get what Carville thinks Obama can do. My impression is that it’s a technical problem and the people with the technical skills to solve it are working 24/7 on it. The fact that Carville is so hysterical tells me that something about this situation really scares him at kind of an id level. I think he sees it as a threat to the perception that Big Govt can do everything. Without that perception, liberalism falters, so I guess his fear is understandable.

“calls on the White House to intervene are growing.”

A formula for turning a disaster into a catastrophe. “Just plug the damn hole” pretty much summarizes the bammer’s universe of understanding. And since he’s surrounded himself with only those who’ve made careers preaching about stealing from the rich, the brain trust will fare no better. Ultimately, the leftist/facsist’s solution is to start having people arrested and shot, but not even the best efforts of the MSM could spin that into pablum for the unwashed masses.

"now I’m pretty sure it will be the oil leak...this thing gets bigger every day."

I recall Queen Nancy's boasting before the elctions - "We can do better."

The Obama administration continues to mismanage anything of substance it is confronted with. There MUST be a point at which his administration breaks, and takes the whole disgusting leftist party down.

Wouldn't it be funny if the only company who had the expertise to fix it was Halliburton?

Paging Dick Cheney.

Carville (aka “The Red Skull”), no, this is NOT “literally, a war we’re in.”

You dummy. “Literally” means the same thing. Not rhetorical exaggeration. As in “James Carville is literally a paid political spin doctor, who would defend the devil himself if he was a radical Democrat.”

We must repel these particular "foreign substances invading our coastline" because they will never, ever vote Democrat and can never, ever be made citizens.

How could the government intervene? I’ll tell you how, they could put out a request to every country in the world for skimmers, assistence, manpower, support ships, fire booms. They could allow the man with the new skimmer to put it to use, they could let Jindel build the sand berms and finance it.
I’m pretty sure even the most conservative folks here would approve of debt spending to help solve this mess over spending on some lame ass social do nothing programs.
Sorry, I’m a little mad at the, there’s nothing Obama can do apologists.

You’re talking about the cleanup effort and we’re talking about controlling the leak. Apples and Oranges.
