CBS Decides Al and Tipper's Separation is the Fault of ... George W. Bush

Is there anything a journalist cannot or will not twist to bring the topic back to how life would be so much better if only not for that awful George W. Bush? On Tuesday's CBS Evening News, with the help of the Washington Post's Sally Quinn, Sharyl Attkisson managed to blame news, that Al and Tipper Gore are separating, on how they never got over being denied the presidency despite winning the popular vote in 2000. If only Bush hadn't taken it from them.

Attkisson recalled “it's been ten years since that oddly public passionate kiss at the Democratic convention. That was followed by Gore winning the popular vote for President but losing the electoral vote. Family friend Sally Quinn says that may have done the marriage irreparable harm.”

Viewers then head from Quinn, who's married former Post Executive Editor Ben Bradlee and is now titular overseer of the paper's “On Faith” blog: “He obviously suffered a lot and still is suffering. He'll never get over that and neither will she.” (jpg of screen shot of Quinn)

Attkisson cheekily began her story: “While Al Gore was out fighting global warming, his marriage to Tipper was apparently cooling.”

On ABC's World News, Claire Shipman offered a simpler explanation, sans the political grudges: “The Gores have told friends they've simply grown apart. Tipper embracing the perks of a post-political life like grandchildren and travel. The former Vice President relishing his role as an award-winning environmental activist and not eager to slow down.”

Why Hell yes "W" is the reason for the break up.

He is responsible for everything BAD that has occurred and will occur in the future.

The rascal George W. Bush has managed to cause the gulf oil spill and break up Al and Tippers marriage all within the last 6 weeks. When does he find time to sleep? He must be the most active former president ever, according to detailed analysis from experts in the Obama administration, Bush may very well be responsible for every bad thing that has happened since Obama took office.

I have no doubt she does not share his views. She was a Conservative advocate working on getting rap music and other music labeled before Al was charmed by Bill. After Al became a Clintonista, Tipper was never heard from again. The biggest reason, Tipper was TOO Conservative.

I can't believe the MSM is blaming the 2000 election for this! Al is the one who took it to court, not W!

I hadn't heard the Gores were separating until now.

I've always felt kinda sorry for Tipper. Being married to that narcissistic a$$hole could NOT be easy.

I hope she gets the house they just bought on the coast!

You know, 1000 years from now when society is using the term 'scapebush' scholars will ponder the word's origin as a probable ritual where the natives thrust upon a chosen bush all of it its' problems and then burned the bush to the ground, absolving them of their woes.

It must have coincided with the Green religion's rise and forceful takeover of the world religions, and images of the Burning Man will be described as the "scapebush'.

I need some coffee.

The one who really denied him the Presidency was Clinton and the Demos who couldn’t take the high road by urging Clinton to resign when he was impeached, a la Nixon. That would have made Gore the incumbent, a much more powerful position for campaigning. It would have addressed the “sleaze factor” and created separation of Gore from Clinton, his cigar, and Monica’s dress.

JMO...

Attkisson recalled “it's been ten years since that oddly public passionate kiss at the Democratic convention.

It was an oddly forced fake-passionate public self-degredation, made infinitely more revolting by liberal reporters brazenly lying about it as passionate and real.

The MSM is more disgusting than the disgusting things they disgustingly lie about. Blech.

I think their problems started way back; back when Dee Snider provided his psychological assessment of Tipper to Al at Gore’s Senate committee.

Oddly enough, Snider also endorsed Gore for president.

I know Dee personally from working with him a number of times over the years and that one really caught me off guard. Then again, he is a downstate NY conservative. He’s a pretty good and fun person to be around. Big and very devoted family also.
