so so sorry sir...just saw this thread...my prayers for her and for you...
Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
Last Christmas- the first one in 25 years without my Emily-- was not too bad.
My family of Black Angels took me in for Christmas dinner, my Lesbian neighbors had me over to meet their friends- who are actually very nice folks-- and my former brother in law took me in for breakfast.
This year? I'll see what Miss MaryAnn and her sea of cats is doing and take it from there.
We live the life we've been given.
I got a new one- one without my Emily.
All I can do is "Take it from there..."
I am so very sad to report that a few days ago backhoe passed away.
We will miss him so much. :-(

RIP, Backhoe. I will miss you.
WOW! RIP, backhoe.
He was one-of-a-kind. I don’t think he ever really bounced back after losing his Miss Emily. :-(
Can you update the title with the update of #454 the Backhoe himself has now passed away.
Backhoe has passed away.
Sad news Connie. His passing is worth its own thread IMO. Thank you for updating everyone.
My condolences to all.
"Farewell to Thee! But not farewell
To all my fondest thoughts of Thee;
Within my heart they still shall dwell
And they shall cheer and comfort me.
Life seems more sweet that Thou didst live
And men more true Thou wert one;
Nothing is lost that Thou didst give,
Nothing destroyed that Thou hast done."
I agree that it is worth its own thread. I just did a search of his name to see if anyone else had posted this news and didn’t see anything, but thought I might have missed it in my search. I didn’t want to risk starting a duplicate thread, so I added it here.
God hold him dear.
I'm certain of that.
Backhoe has passed — see #454
Yes, but at least he HAD his Miss Emily. I've gone my entire life and never found her. He is lucky.
Backhoe, hey bro, hope you are enjoying heaven!
Rest in Peace Heavy Equipment Guy.
I’m so sorry
I don’t know if I could survive that
I pray I go first
Ah man, that is sad news.
You were one of the best, backhoe.
Backhoe was a wonderful man. I have a pang in my heart. He and I had some good discussions.
May God protect his soul now and forever.

RIP dear backhoe.
Thank you, conniew.
Backhoe was a true gentleman. What few times our paths crossed, he always had a kind or friendly or funny word. Now he is whole and reunited with his sweetheart!
He was a good man. Thoughtful and kind.. and a legend here at FreeRepublic... I’m sad to hear of his death.
I’m so sorry. Prayers for his family and loved ones.

At the request of members, I am restarting those "Tales from the Dark UnderBelly Of the Beast"-- the stories and issues that the press and media either ignore, won't even talk about, or will mention once and forevermore claim "it's old news..."
Prayers for Backhoe and his wife. R.I.P.
Thank you, both for the sad ping. May God hold him in His loving arms. My condolences to backhoe’s family and friends.
This is really sad.
Backhoe, no more heavy lifting. Rest in peace.
Prayers for the family.
My sincere condolences, backhoe, on your deep and tragic loss.
May God comfort you as only He is able to best know how.
A major loss for FR and FD. Rest in his peace FRiend.
Hey there nic, hope all is well. Sad to meet again under this circumstance. Tip of the hat, lady.
(Just an Old Keyboard Cowboy, ridin the trakball into the Twilight...)
You will be missed.
Thanks for the ping; links; post.
WHOA!...this one hurts. The mere mention of the word “backhoe” triggered thoughts of him a couple of weeks ago...
This is what’s happening in Mexico right now

Speaking of backhoe, whatever happened to one of the all-time FReeper greats?
A prolific poster, a great researcher/linker, an educator, a truth-seeker, a freedom-lover and a passionate man, a soul-baring spirit for the love of his life, Miss Emily.
What more can a man be?
One of the all-time FReeper greats.
A tearful goodbye. R.I.P. backhoe and Miss Emily.
Condolences to remaining family, friends, FReepers and the Free Dominion posters who are scattered about.
RIP backhoe. Another familiar voice passes.
Really sorry to hear this. John was a good man, and one of the best FReepers ever.
Personally, I think he would really, really like that the announcement came on this particular thread.
Backhoe had about as tough a life as can be imagined.
How he kept his head up to contribute as much as he did here amazes me.
Don’t you go getting any ideas of leaving us!
Our deepest sympathy. Prayers.
Godspeed backhoe. ..home at last with Miss Emily.
Oh no, so sorry to hear this.
Rest in peace, Backhoe.
