Limbaugh bashes GOP for Barton response Posted: June 21st, 2010 04:05 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) – Conservative talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh is taking aim at Republican leaders for rushing to demand Texas Rep. Joe Barton retract his controversial apology to BP CEO Tony Hayward during last week's congressional hearing.

On his radio show Monday, Limbaugh suggested the GOP leadership likely agrees with Barton's sentiments, but are driven by recent national polls which suggest the majority of Americans support President Barack Obama's push for BP to set aside $20 billion for future liability claims.

"It was a shakedown pure and simple," said Limbaugh, echoing the words for which Barton later apologized. "And somebody had the audacity to call it what it was and now everybody's running for the hills."

"All you have to do is look at the polling," Limbaugh continued. "We're talking about Republicans inside the beltway. All you have to do is look at the polling data and media coverage and find out what they are going to do."

What Barton said wasn’t popular, and it sure wouldn’t win friends at a time that everyone is demonizing BP, but on principle he is right.

They had a right to due process.

Rush you are wrong. I want to win in November not defend a grossly negligent foreign corp to score negative publicity points.

Interestingly enough the “escrow account” was “suggested” by president Soros and the Center for American progress on May 3rd.

BP wanted to drill in 50 foot deep water and the government said absolutely not.

So then BP said ok we’ll drill down 500 feet and still the government said no.

So, BP was essentially forced to drill 35,000 foot down offshore.

And everybody is shocked something went wrong?

I never used to buy BP gas before April 20. Now it’s the ONLY gas station I go to.

When we take back congress in November, the first thing that needs to be done is REMOVE John Boner from the leadership position. I have watched this guy closely for years. He talks a good conservative game but is really a fraud. He is NOT a true conservative. We need to make Pence the speaker. Then in the Senate, make Jim Demint the leader.

We must get rid of the mooshy country club republicans, starting with Boehner

OK...I get it.

They're trying to milk this issue for all it's worth to divide conservatives.

Won't work. It's already yesterday's news despite Emmanuel's trying to whip it up yesterday and CNN trying to help him today.

Keep up the talk on the drilling moratorium instead. That one's got long legs and will hurt Dems a LOT.

As well he should. The Republican leadership is worthless and a pack of panty-waists.

Rush is correct. Who oversees this fund? An Obama
appointee. How did Zer0 come to $20 Billion?
Why not $60 or $100?

Meanwhile Zer0 is doing nothing, nothing and more nothing.

Forget about due process. Hopey changey. This is purely Marxist.
Hugo Chavez is proud of his comrade and it sure whet’s your appetite.

Amen. Barton may be getting some shakedown money from the oil industry too. Protect American citizens first please.

John Boehner 1-202-225-6205; Eric Cantor 1-202-225-2815.

Big shout-out to Goat Boy for golfing eighteen holes and watching baseball for three hours.

Rahm the Ballerina walks around in the nude finger-poking other nude men.

Feinman is independent and asks Goat Boy what that means.

Goat Boy waited fifty-nine days then had his Coast Guard check life vests and fire extinguishers.

Maybe Red Adair and Boots 'n' Coots used tire guages on seven hundred oil well fires in the first Gulf War.

Saul Alinsky is unavailable to fuel my truck--where do I get one o' them windmills?

Meanwhile next year's economic asteroid looms larger--but, hey, the fairies are shrieking, "O the yacht!"

Goat Boy's got a pimpmobile with five-inch ballistic armor, run-flat tires, and glass so thick they have to keep the interior lights on all the time.

And it runs on. . .Robert Gibbs' magic butt.

And what really torques me is how BP CEO Hayward put a ban on gulf drilling--

Wait.

Rush, as usual, is right. Our ‘president’ is a thug. His administration practices thuggery. It is one thing to recognize that BP has made mistakes. It is another thing altogether to bully them; Obama’s behavior is illegal. We must have a dozen reasons to impeach this SOB. Any takers?
