Jerusalem Post ^

Israel Air Force aircraft have been spotted in recent days at a Saudi Arabian military base unloading military equipment in the city of Tabuk, in northwestern Saudi Arabia, according to a report from Iranian news agency FARS.

The base will reportedly be used as a forward operating base by the Israelis as part of an offensive on an Islamic country.

IMO, the Israelis are The Masters of psychological warfare -- plenty of which includes intentional disinformation. Here's yet another article which keeps *I*R*A*N* first & foremost in the minds of newshounds everywhere, and serves to keep the Iranian mullahs scared & paranoid.

Someday, someone will do an indepth study on the last decade's worth of news stories about Israel's alleged imminent attack on Iran. Somewhere on in a building on a street in Tel Aviv, creative specialists are churning out these stories day after day after day after day.

Ageed, the Israeli's and Iranians are both working overtime to gin up precursors to war.

They are both hungry for allies and looking to see who notices and responds to this hysteria.

Almost as silly as the recent article about Saudi Arabia testing its ability to lower its radar to allow Israelis to fly over. Laughable. The Iranians constantly monitor Saudi radar and would be tipped off immediately to an Israel attack. Any thinking person knows that if the Saudi's were cooperating, they would just give the Identify-Friend code to the Israeli aircraft and Iran would not know the difference between Israeli and Saudi F-15s.

I am mainly disappointed that Iranian and Israeli PR keep coming up with such cheap hustles. I want to at least be challenged for more than 2-3 seconds and at least be entertained with a better pack of lies.

“But I agree with other posters that this seems Debka-style fantasy.”

Which is why this story is so curious. JPost and INN are the Israeli equivalents of the Washington Post or Wall Street Journal. Very reputable news agencies . . . not typically prone to running “Debka-style” stories.

>>>> "I'm with you . . . this story is non-sense. I'm more interesting in why the Israeli press is running this Iranian drivel.

"Jpost and INN aren't known for re-printing Iranian propoganda from FARS or PressTV" <<<<

So, maybe it's a slow news day in Tel Aviv???

This kind of cheap hustle is usually reseved for Debka. Jpost and INN run there share of inflammatory op-ed stuff targeted against Iran. I don’t often see them print up this kind of junk . . . that’s PressTV, FARS and Debka territory.

as part of an offensive on an Islamic country

Is that to rally all muslims against this?

I also have my doubts, but only because of the source. I doubt the Iranian press printed this story without the knowledge and probably under the direct orders of the Mullocracy.

Publicizing collaboration between Israel and Saudi Arabia (even if they made the story up, which I also doubt) serves several purposes. One, it tells the Saudis the Iranians are aware of their involvement in the inevitable Israeli action and that they can expect a reprisal from Iran. Two, it may create unrest among the Saudi population who (they hope) hate both Jews and the Royals more than Shiite Persians. And three, it puts the Saudis in a very bad light among those Arabs (Palestinians, Syrians, Shiite Lebanese and Iraqis) who really do hate Israel more than Iran.

But I do not doubt that the Saudis are concerned enough about what a nuclear Iran would mean to themselves and every other Arab government in the region to (temporarily) line up with the only country that has the means and the will to stop it. The Israeli press is reporting it because they are free to do so and (especially if true) it's one helluva story.

Coming from an Iranian news source I doubt this story is true.

While I'd dearly love to see Iran get their a$$es handed to 'em, I'd sure like for all of us to be able to get out of the crossfire first.

Makes for a good misdirection...

I don’t believe a thing that comes out of Iran.

So the Iranians are trying to pick a fight with the Saudis. Why?

That's easy. They are trying to stir up internal opposition in S.A. over the flyover agreement with Israel that leaked out last month.

I’ve been in Saudi before with zero problems -— on a US Passport, but openly Jewish.

The workers there, however, are Syrian/Lebanese “palestinians.” They stared with hatred.

What I find curious is why the Israeli MSM is reporting this

Hey, anything to mess with the mullahs' heads. These are, after the all, the same paranoiacs who see spy squirrels under every bush and believe in UFOs. Psy ops are cool :)

To let them fly over would be one thing to the duplicitous saudis. That they’d allow Jews onto their so-called sacred soil stretches credibility beyond reach.

Azerbaijan is a great place to attack Iran but how do you get there? Israel would have to fly over Turkey or Syria and Iraq to get there. Then Azerbaijan is open to ground attack from Iran.

I don’t doubt it one bit. SA is quite serious about taking Iran out of the picture.

Iran wants SA oil and it desperately wants total control of Mecca and the Grand Mosque.

It is a big game that is being played out in the Gulf and there will be plenty of surprises.

Actually, I think Mecca would be the perfect staging area. Further away, and audacious enough to be unbelieveable. Last place they’d look. I know a used camel salesman who could sell the fleas off a camel’s back. Maybe we could use him. His name is Mohammaad. He also claims to be a prophet of a black rock or some crazy thing like that. I’m surprised he isn’t selling pieces of the rock.
