the Department of Labor has consistently held that the country's minimum wage and overtime law protects workers regardless of their immigration status."

Why do companies hire illegals? Right or wrong, it's to get a leg up on the competition on these very things....all the government regulations that control how businesses pay people for their labor. Now we have the government encouraging those "under the table" to come out and claim their "full rights" to pay and bennies. Seems to me they will lose a bit of their charm to employers if that happens.

Done. You make a great point. I call my congressmen about twice a week on various issues; I will ask them who is looking out for We the People.

After we “stabliize” Mexico, annex the whole thing (including the oil).

You REALLY want to annex that mess down there? They're in even worse shape than this country.

We have yet to see the US government act to protect its citizens from these threats. Americans are being betrayed by a government that refuses to protect them. US intelligence agencies are aware of, and have briefed the US govt, on this threat:

Oct 25, 2009 American Patrol Report: Savage Zetas, descendants of the Aztecs, known for beheading and dismembering their enemies, are integrating their primitive savagery into the US.

In his groundbreaking book, Wakeup Call from Mexico, Wilson Beck describes how the dark side of Mexico stretches back to the days of the Aztecs when hundreds of thousands of people were sacrificed and eaten each year. He says today many young men in Mexico are enamored with the idea of being descendants of the Aztecs.

Now, according to the Houston Chronicle, the brutal savage Zetas, known for beheading and dismembering their enemies, are tightening their grip on an area bordering Southern Texas. In addtion to drug cartels running rampant on US soil.

Agents feared Mexican drug cartel attack on border dam

An alleged plot by a Mexican drug cartel to blow up a dam along the Texas border — and unleash billions of gallons of water into a region with millions of civilians — sent American police, federal agents and disaster officials secretly scrambling last month to thwart such an attack, authorities confirmed Wednesday. Whether or not the cartel, which is known to have stolen bulk quantities of gunpowder and dynamite, could have taken down the 5-mile-long Falcon Dam may never be known since the attack never came to pass. It may have been derailed by a stepped-up presence by the Mexican military, which was acting in part on intelligence from the U.S. government, sources said.

The warning, which swung officials into action, was based on what the federal government contends were “serious and reliable sources” and prompted the Department of Homeland Security to sound the alarm to first responders along the South Texas-Mexico border. Mexico's Zeta cartel was planning to destroy the dam not to terrorize civilians, but to get back at its rival and former ally, the Gulf cartel, which controls smuggling routes from the reservoir to the Gulf of Mexico, said Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez, head of the Southwest Border Sheriff's Coalition, as did others familiar with the alleged plot.

But in the process, massive amounts of agricultural land would stand to be flooded as well as significant parts of a region where about 4 million people live along both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. (Excerpt) Read more at chron.com

A most interesting, frightening, and un-PC book that gives a credible explanation of the utter savage behavior of the Zetas. It's well worth the read.

I don’t think anyone should be taken advantage of and they should be paid fair wages.

These poor people come here to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Yes, they send money back to Mexico.

Yes, they commit numerous felonies for which you and I would be arrested and thrown in the can for.

Yes, many are simple parasites, who exist to take advantage of others and claim welfare “entitlement”

Still, they should be compensated fairly.

BUT, when they are discovered to be an illegal alien, they should be deported and repatriated to their country of origin.

And, we wonder why we are in such deep kim chee!

If I was King Fed for a day, I’d damn sure make certain that every person seeking federal assistance is a citizen of the United States!

So our tax dollars are being used to help illegals find work or get great pay whatever when AMERICAN CITIZENS are out of work.

Folks...it is time to think REVOLUTION.

This is getting out of hand.
