The BP disaster was obamas 3 A.M. emergency phone call that was talked about during the campaign. He basically just hung up the phone and went back to sleep with a grin on his face.
It seems that when he finally woke up his version of crisis mode was not "how can I help" but "how can I use this to advance my agenda"
Never let a crisis go to waste seems to be an operational mandate for these leftists. IMO they purposefully are making matters in and along the gulf worse in order to further their anti-America agenda.
If this perspective could make its way into the public conciseness, either with graphics and or a time-line* of events, perhaps more people will realize just what this person is is all about.
So far the MSM has diverted much of the blame away from their marxist messiah. His poll numbers are dropping but IMO not fast or far enough.
IT'S NOT INCOMPETENCE, IT'S INTENTIONAL.
How’s he doing?
He shouldda called Palin....
How is ol’ tar balls doing? About as well as a pelican trying to fly while covered in thick oily goo. Although in Obama’s case it is more appropriate to compare him to a gooney bird.
I can see the oil from my house.................
Hows he doing withis 3 a.m. phone call?
He missed the call.
Worse than even Hillary expected.
for this pvnk it’s ALWAYS 3:am!!!!!
He never answered the call. He’s still sleeping.
What can you expect from a community organizer?
He rolled over and went back to sleep
“He missed the call.”
No, he ignored it.
I shudder to think how Obama would handle a real national security crisis. Let’s say the 2 am phone call is from the CIA who says they have indisputable intelligence that a nuclear weapon has already been smuggled into New York City by terrorists who plan to detonate it it in 12 hours. Would Obama miss his tee time?
Must have thought it was a McLame ROBO-Call.
The phone has been off the hook for two months.
Sorry for the vanity PING here:
I was born in New Orleans, and have lived within an hours drive my entire life. This disaster has not impacted me but I have an uncle who is a commercial fisherman whos life will never be the same. And several other relatives and acquaintances fish recreationally in or near the Gulf.
People are not yet realizing the impact will be nationwide. The moratorium will do more long-term economic damage than the leak itself—nationwide. So obozos response IS incompetent AND intentional.
Something needs to stick to this commie. Maybe if enough people connect him to the 3 A.M. phone call the oil will FINALLY weigh him down like it is the pelicans.
I left quotation marks in the title when I posted which messed up. Could you please adjust?
“If this perspective could make its way into the public conciseness”
“conciseness” should have been “consciousness”.
Admidt it u r stoopid!
oh kay I admitten it eye is stew pid
I think it is becoming clear that the very election of obozo is a real national security crisis.
That 3 AM call is going to be something much, much worse than an oil spill; a nation-state nuclear attack. If you’re Russia or China, this is a limited window of opportunity that will permit them to eliminate the United States.
Why did it take 70 days before they asked for help from foreign skimmer ships?
Why did the Coast Guard order barges back into dock in Louisiana?
Why have Governor Jindal's requests been denied?
Why is the president not on this 24/7 with shirt sleeves rolled up on the phone in the White House (like JFK during the Cuban Missle Crisis, looking engaged and concerned) and actively locating all 2000 skimmer ships to requisition and get them out there cleaning up the biggest environmental disaster in American history??? Pronto. Not tomorrow, not next week, not in a month, or six months from now.
Instead, while all of this was going on and no one knew where the skimmer ships were, he went on vacation, he golfed, he went to a Nats game, he schmoozed and partied with Paul McCartney and other liberal pop stars. If this is the leadership, judgment, competence, and demeanor that a Harvard Law degree confers, he should ask for a tuition refund.
"It's 3 AM. Do you know where your puppet is?"
He’s still hiding under the covers.
Y’all quit hatin’ on our dear President Obama.
As evidence of his care and commitment to the environment, he has allowed foreign vessels to help in containing the spill in just 70 days.
For you braindead conservatives, 70 days is a very short period of time for a constitutional scholar and community organizer to accomplish a real objective. Sure, Bush relaxed EPA fuel regulations and suspended the Jones Act prohibitions to allow imports of gasoline and diesel within hours of Katrina’s devastation, but he was a doofus. Bush did not contemplate his actions with the thoroughness of a community organizer and constitutional scholar. Consequently, Bush did not balance the public interest (i.e., unions, environmentalists, politicians, and the opinions of the MSM) against the consequences of immediate fuel shortages in the US. Nor did he form a commission of environmentalists and politicians and await their report before acting to avert immediate and severe fuel shortages. Rather, Bush just acted to alleviate their prospect. Had President Obama been in office at the time, he would have had the wisdom to seize the opportunity to use the crisis as a means to teach Americans to use less fuel. Instead, Bush enabled Americans to continue driving the SUVs.
nicely done, chap!
He's still sputtering around in the dark, spewing profanities, bumping into things; searching for the phone.
The night obozo won I said (among other things) that China will likely take Taiwan.
And now I'll add once obozo shows the world his limp wristed gimp response, the worlds tyrants will slam the peddle to the floor.
I hate saying this but I believe obozos intentions towards the US are not very different than Russia or China.
"70 days is a very short period of time for a constitutional scholar and community organizer to accomplish a real objective."
How many chakras do you think Gore was able to release during the 70 days
of this environmental disaster? And what source of energy does he use for heated towels and steam during his...ahem...massages? It's a tough life for these global warming crusaders.
Obama in bed with clock showing 3:00 (room dark so obviously am)and the phone ringing off the hook--one arm dangling from the bed the other around a pillow over his head--and on the wall a photo of Biden and underneath his "BFD" quote. Or somethinbg like that.
But, as so many of us realize, using the 3:00am scenario is a PERFECT opportunity for POWERFUL ad!
That stuff on the end of his Q-tip isn’t his brains.
He wouldn’t even be tee’d off.
He would just call a mulligan and a do over.
"It's 3:00am. Why is Obama partying with Paul McCartney?"
But why wasn't Biden on the phone tracking down the skimmer ships?
Or Hillary Clinton? Or one of the other adults?
Is there anyone in charge of this?
There might not be.
They might all be that crazy, in thrall of Obama, their utopian messiah, waiting for him to make a decision - to "heal the planet."
A great idea. There are a lot of really great things the RNC could do if they wanted.
I see them as not very creative.
Didn’t he put them on hold for a week or two?
After a certain point it becomes painfully obvious that they're not just a bunch of big government bureaucratic nerds that don't know how to cut through the red tape. People start to legitimately question if this is not also intentional.
Giving the benifit has realistic limitations.
It could be a split screen with Gov. Jindal then Admiral Allen then several others holding phones calling with no answer--or being hung up on.
Imagine if Bush was in right now and doing the exact same thing that obozo is. Compare how the lib pols, MSM and hollyweird would be responding. Bush would be crucified by the same folks who offer little criticism on obozo while plays golf.
Rush or Beck etc could have a field day with this, not to mention the hopeless RNC.
“Have you heard any reports of people in the coastal areas complaining of health ailments (sinus/eye irritation, breathing problems, inflammation from toxic vapors)?
Some blogs have claimed that. (just curious for the perspective of someone closer to the scene)”
My Freep response:
Oh hell yes.
Everything you mentioned is discussed on local radio. One report noted that at least 3 toxic airborn chemicals were several thousand times above safe levels along the coast.
IMO everyone on the coast will have long term health effects and/or die younger than they would have.
A friend in my area (2+ hour drive North of the Mississippi delta - Gulf outlet) swears he can smell a faint petroleum odor some mornings. I mentioned it to a relative and they can sometimes as well. So I suspect people on the Gulf coast where the oil is heavy are doomed healthwise.
Im convinced if it were Dubya in office most of the oil would have been skimmed and very little would have made it to shore.
There are many safe organic treatments that could absorb the oil and convert it into a non toxic byproduct.
One company has that type product. http://www.supremesorb.com/
It is USDA and Coast Guard approved for oil clean up and has been used in several spills for many years. They are based less than 20 min from the Gulf and MORE THAN A MONTH AGO the CEO said he has more than what is needed. Last I checked he got no response from the Feds or BP.
Its TREASON IMO.
The president should have been on the phone tracking down every skimmer ship or barge that could have been used to clean up that oil. It's basic arithmetic. How many gallons of oil per day leaking out, how much each skimmer ship can suction up, ergo, how many ships are needed. There shouldn't have been any vacation, parties or schmooze events until that was accomplished and they were at sea. The presidency is NOT a part-time or just 9-to-5 job. Here we are seventy days and hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil later, untold destruction to coastline, beaches, wetlands, aquatic life, fisheries, and coastal economies, and still most of those ships are not there yet. Did we mention dolphins, pelicans, and sea turtles? Or damage to human health from toxic gases.
Hows he doing?
not answering- for 70 days. Hum.. he’s left the country yea that’s it..
Lately containment estimates are scheduled to reach 50,000 barrel per day capacity. Then in July as much as 80,000 barrell per day capacity.
I heard that it realistically could be releasing 75,000 barrels everyday.
75,000 x 42 gallons per barrel = 3,150,000 gallons per day x 70 days = 220,500,000 gallons since the blowout. 220 MILLION GALLONS.
The A Whale skimmer ship -- the length of 3 1/2 football fields and 10 stories high -- is designed to collect up to 500,000 barrels of oily water a day through 12 vents on either side of its bow. LINK
Just that one ship!
IF no dispersents were used and the oil surfaced then was skimmed by an armada of skimmers VERY LITTLE oil would have ever made it to the shores, then bioremediation could easily have cleaned up the residue See http://www.supremesorb.com/
Largest skimmer in the world must be deemed effective by the federal government before its allowed to help with oil clean-up
By Jon Ward - The Daily Caller | Published: 1:51 AM 06/30/2010 | Updated: 2:18 PM 06/30/2010
The largest skimming ship in the world known as an A Whale is expected to arrive in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, but will be prevented from contracting with BP to help clean up the oil spill until the federal government decides that the vessel is effective.
The Coast Guard will not clear the Taiwan-owned ship which is reportedly the length of 3 football fields and 10 stories high to join the clean-up until it undergoes a test.
The Coast Guard research and development center has a team of personnel that are ready to observe the tests to test the efficacy of the vessels systems, as well as its ability to safely operate in that area down there, Coast Guard spokesman Ron LaBrec told The Daily Caller.
LaBrec said that the Coast Guard does not have concerns about the environmental impact of the ships operations. Some reports have said that the Environmental Protection Agency is worried that some of the 500,000 barrels of oily water sucked up each day by the vessel may contain some traces of oil when placed back in the Gulf.
An EPA spokesman did not return a request for comment by press time.
The Coast Guard spokesman said that there are no legal concerns holding up the A Whale skimmer. The Jones Act, which prohibits foreign ships from operating in or near U.S. ports in many circumstances, does not apply to skimmers.
LaBrec said that the holdup for the super skimmer was required only because the government is required to give it the green light, even though BP would be the one paying for the skimmer and on the hook if it was not effective.
There are standards for oil spill response vessels, testing standards, LaBrec said. The federal on-scene coordinator is involved in approving the different technologies that are used in the response to make sure there are no issues with that.
A BP spokesman said the oil company had not asked the skimmer to come help with the cleanup.
Theyve just turned up hoping to help out. We havent contracted with them, the BP spokesman said.
You don’t move a ship that size on the hope there is a job at the end trip. Somebody talked to or contacted them.
