It's just painful to think people this moronic are in charge of our government. They have no clue what needs to happen to get the economy moving again which is why we're stuck in the swamp. Utterly, totally clueless this bunch of socialist pinheads.
Studies show the longer unemployment benefits are extended the longer people are likely to remain unemployed since the majority of unemployment recipients wait until benefits are close to running out before getting serious about looking for a job.

"It injects demand into the economy," Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name." Errr... No. Cutting the federal income tax rates will do that you BOTOX WITCH!!!

Yes, since unemployment checks do so much to help the economy, why not just force business to lay off all their employees?? And Nancy will certainly want to do her part by giving up her House seat for which we’d gladly extend her unemployment benefits as well.

Especially in this economy where people may not have an easy time finding a job in thier chosen field or a job at the level they hoped for. With unemployment they will probably not take what they CAN get. Without unemployment almost everyone that is not independently wealthy will take what they can get.

Pelosi said the aid has the "double benefit" of helping those who lost their jobs and acting as a "job creator" on the side. By this loony logic we can make the economy really hum by just doubling or tripling the unemployment benefits. We'll create millions of new jobs by paying billions to people who aren't working. Brilliant!

Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday.

Studies show the longer unemployment benefits are extended the longer people are likely to remain unemployed since the majority of unemployment recipients wait until benefits are close to running out before getting serious about looking for a job.In normal times, I would be inclined to agree. But, thanks to Obama and his fellow Socialists, these times are anything but normal. The fact is in many parts of the Country, there are no jobs and those who are receiving benefits are basically just barely surviving on what they receive.
I don't think for a moment that Democrats are wanting to fund unemployment extensions for the good of those their policies have hurt. Instead, it's vote related and they're scared to death how much worse the economy would be without this stimulus.
Maybe it's just me, but almost all the people I know who are unemployed are Republicans, and while I'm certain they're thankful for the benefits, none that I know are planning to vote Democrat.

Since she says it with a straight face, one must assume she means government jobs processing those checks were created.
Aaaah, now it’s clear.
