And I can guess how rugby was invented. Some English people
were involved in a similar game and one of them finally said:
“Bugger this—I’m running with the ball.”
Now that the “world” cup has ended, can we stop this “one world-global” game BS because Americans dont care about it in the 1st place?
I don't know about that. The ref could have and should have red carded de Jong for kicking Alonzo in the chest.
Webb, the English ref, is a very good ref and I'm betting he didn't want to decide the match at that point, which it probably would have.
Its not like it was the Super Bowl or anything. Soccer is baseball w/o the scoring.
Soccer is for kids who can’t hit the ball.
Too many fouls and too many dives.
But one very nice goal.

This season’s FA Community Shield will see Manchester United play Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 8 August, kick-off 15:00 BST.
The Club will receive an allocation of 26,690 tickets all of which will be located in the East side of the ground. Tickets will cost £40, £30, £20 and £15 for adults with under-16s and over-65s receiving a £5 discount on these prices.
Season Ticket holders and Executive Members can make an application to buy tickets for the match online or by calling 0161 868 8000 from 08:00 BST on Monday 5 July through to 08:00 BST on Monday 12 July. Ballot results will then be available from Wednesday 14 July.

I don’t know, I am not a fan but we were invited to a party today to watch the game with a group of Dutch friends (real from Holland Dutch). We declined but I know they are blubbering in their beer right now.

I agree w/all comments but also feel that the shooting is pathetic. So many kicks and head bumps went wide or over the goal. Just terrible.
The only goal came after the full 90 minute game time, and after the first 11 or 15 minute extra time and near the end of the second and last extra time. Just before the stupid penalty kicks would have decided it. The only good thing would be haircuts are getting shorter for soccer players (except a few clowns who did not get the memo.)
