A few valid points, but mostly nonsense. It's like they're observing us in a zoo.

Tea Party rallies on April 15, 2010, to protest paying taxes.

How come nobody informed me of this? I thought I was protesting an out of control ineffective government of criminals,

Ruth Rosen, a former columnist at the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, is also an historian who currently teaches at the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of "The World Split Open: How the Modern Women's Movement Changed America" (Viking, 2006).

Yup, that tells me everything I need to know...

Cheers

The people protesting Obama’s policies are mainly middle America average folks. I put on six town halls last year working for a Congressman and the doors were nearly bursting off the hinges each time as the place filled with the kind people you’d think of as living next door.

The “right wing Tea Party” moniker is useful tool for the far left who are running things, but I can say honestly that there’s really nothing “right-wing” about them.

As I scanned the article I saw quite a few "racist" attacks.

"They are racists and then they are racists, but don't forget that they are racists..."

These people are so predictable.

Many liberals and leftists dismissed the Tea Party as a temporary, knee-jerk response to ... an African American president who had saved American capitalism ...

They think people are angry because he saved capitalism??

As the 4th paragraph laid out a flawed analysis of the Tea Party phenomenon, I dispensed with the remainder as probable claptrap."Saved capitalism" though, is a wonderfully entertaining concept that I am sure will elicit many inappropriately timed chuckles from me during the dark days ahead.

To 6 - Accurately put.

Aside: I've never seen nor heard Palin use the "Ms." designation. And in a perfect world she'd lose her attraction to social 'enhancements' such as Title IX. Yet, the human world is not, nor ever will be, perfect.

Speaking of conservative females, has Amanda Carpenter been on sabbatical?

Ping to Elizabeth, since she is a conservative, a woman, and in her own right, a feminist - the good kind.
Aloha!

Liberal Jews are absolute paranoid about Christian fundamentalism. They simply don’t know that this view of Christianity was ascendent in the United States almost from the first days of the Republic. Jefferson and Adams in their correspondence opinion that American Christianity would take the form of some sort of Unitarianism. In fact, shortly after their death (on the same day, July 4, 1826, Tocqueville looked around and saw a very different religious landscape, one that reflected more the views of John Wesley than Jefferson’s. So much so that the English Catholic historian Christopher Dawson spoke of the Tory-minded priest as a” founding father of the United States. “ It was based on a theological consensus that eschewed both Calvinism and Liberalism and a moral consensus that was joined even by the growing Catholic population. A country that in 1789 was basically unchurched was now a country in which almost everyone was a member of some “Denomination.” And beware the politician who did not. Over it all was a kind of Protestant Establishment, with the elites belonging to one of the major denominations with the Episcopalians forming the top layer. This state of affairs endured until the post world war II period.

"Men drawn to this movement appear to belong to a broad range of fringe right-wing groups, such as militias, white supremacy groups, pro-gun and confederacy "armies." Some of these groups advocate violence, vow to overthrow the government, and have even begun to use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to spread their hatred through social media."

Well now, wasn't THAT special? So here RUTH - suck on this!

BONNIE BLUE FLAG

We are a band of brothers and native to the soil
Fighting for our Liberty, With treasure, blood and toil
And when our rights were threatened, the cry rose near and far
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star!

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
For Southern rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

As long as the Union was faithful to her trust
Like friends and brethren, kind were we, and just
But now, when Northern treachery attempts our rights to mar
We hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
For Southern rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

First gallant South Carolina nobly made the stand
Then came Alabama and took her by the hand
Next, quickly Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida
All raised on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
For Southern rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Ye men of valor gather round the banner of the right
Texas and fair Louisiana join us in the fight
Davis, our loved President, and Stephens statesmen are
Now rally round the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
For Southern rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

And here's to brave Virginia, the Old Dominion State.
With the young Confederacy at length has linked her fate.
Impelled by her example, now other States prepare
To hoist on high the Bonnie Blue flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
For Southern rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Then here's to our Confederacy, strong we are and brave,
Like patriots of old we'll fight, our heritage to save.
And rather than submit to shame, to die we would prefer

So cheer for the Bonnie Blue flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
For Southern rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Then cheer, boys, cheer, raise a joyous shout
For Arkansas and North Carolina now have both gone out;
And let another rousing cheer for Tennessee be given
The single star of the Bonnie Blue Flag has grown to be eleven!
