Just when you thought open borders Democrats could not possibly be more out of touch with American workers, comes this gem. Sen. Maj. Leader Reid (D-NV), even when confronted with multiple sources of data, denies both that illegal aliens work on construction jobs in his state at ALL (they do), or that E-Verify is effective in weeding out illegals from jobs in the first place (it is). Reid opposed making E-Verify mandatory for construction firms working on Federal "Stimulus" jobs. (There is no reason whatsoever to oppose such an amendment unless one is trying to purposely protect illegal aliens on the job). As usual with his ilk, he repeats the phony mantra of "comprehensive reform" again and again like a malfunctioning robot on Star Trek.
This is a killer. Please use this frequently, Senator-Elect Angle.

Reid lies, I lived in Las Vegas for 45 yrs ....I don’t know the percentage of illegal aliens working construction but I do know it’s high, has been for many years. Try finding a drywaller, concrete worker, etc that even speaks English.

What Reid said could have an element of truth to it. Nevada can now boast the highest unemployment rate in the country. As bad as unemployment is in general, it is much worse for the construction industry, which is at a virtual standstill. (Literally everyone I know in construction is currently unemployed.) I don’t know what the actual employment rate for construction is, but it has got to be in the 80 - 90% or more. So, if “no one” is working, then it would follow that even illegal aliens are not working in construction either. Reid could actually be speaking the truth for once. But, I doubt it. Reid doesn’t have a problem with illegal aliens taking the jobs of citizens. He knows that he can count on them to vote Democrat.

If Sharron Angle’s campaign does not use the clips from this video for a campaign ad, her Campaign Manager needs to be fired. Even the Unions are upset at Harry for not wanting E-Verify to be mandatory. The stats in the video show that Nevada leads the nation in the number of Illegals working construction jobs. Harry gave a great campaign gift to The Angle campaign with these remarks and this video. Please Sharron, take advantage of this.
