Coleman won't pursue 2008 voting probe

Former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman says investigations into felons voting illegally in the 2008 election won't cause him to try to change the outcome.

Coleman lost his Senate seat to Democrat Al Franken after a recount and court contest that lasted eight months.

On Wednesday, the Republican said there will always be "a cloud of doubt" and the allegations add to that, but he hasn't sought legal advice on his options and doesn't intend to.

Prosecutors in Minnesota's biggest counties are investigating a conservative watchdog group's allegations that ineligible felons voted or registered to vote illegally in 2008.

Earlier Wednesday, GOP Gov. Tim Pawlenty said on Fox News that if the allegations are true, "they may have flipped the election."

actually the best thing for Minnesota in the long run is to force them to live with their choice of Al Franken for another four years. In the end that will be a lesson they should not soon forget.

I agree with you Mr. R -

Find who these illegal voters were and charge them. But the behavior HAS to be addressed.

We, the people, will lose the ongoing battle for the morality of America if we don’t fight.

That's what we need, somebody who will just roll over and let the Commies have their way.

Coleman fought the fight until pay to play came his way. I don’t think he has the stomach to open that can of worms.

a I said on another thread voter fraud or intimation should be severely punished

30 years to life, hard labor ,no parole or the death penalty in extreme cases

You have to understand, Coleman’s a former democrat. He only left the party because he and his wife are pro-life and he had no political future with them.

At age 60, my guess is he’s simply tired of party politics.

I'm far from Minnesota, but some thought Coleman didn't put up much of a fight the first time. He doesn't seem to get it that the issue is far, far bigger than just him.

It took him TWO YEARS to figure this out? Stupid Party is an accurate name.

GOP is a bunch of old coots who obviously aren’t willing to fight for anything anymore, well except THEIR pensions.

The fraud was perpetrated against the entire country not just coleman. If the GOP had any spine, guts, and gonads, they would go after this fraud in order to stop it everywhere else in the country.

There’s a severe shortage of gonads in the leadership of the GOP. That’s why the country is one flush from the sewer.

This is EXACTLY the reason why the democrat party will continue to lie, cheat and steal elections as well as trash our Constitution...the spineless GOP will not fight back. They want to maintain that “nice guys” image.

FUBO

While i understand all the arguments why nothing will happen lets just play devils advocate for a moment.
Bad votes investigated. Bad votes turn out to be overwhelmingly in favor of the idiot. Minn elections board publishes new final tally with the loser,Coleman, having more votes. Then what happens?

Truue.

They are bunch of gutless nonentities.

The last best hope for America is the Tea Party Movement.

The Tea Party people MUST take over the GOP and drive people like Snowe, Collins, Grassley, McCain, and Hatch OUT.

He didn’t put up much of a campaign, either.

This is what happens when lawyers run the GOP.

More than 3 Million Registered Voters are Dead, 12 Million More Ineligible, Analysis Finds
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/56423
They never seem to be able to report that, even though the fact that someone voted is a public record.
This of course is by design. If states wanted to, they could make voting as secure as the lottery.Instead, they take every opportunity to create ways to ensure it’s not.
A bottle of beer, a pack of smokes, a plane trip to Chicago, or a can of spray paint- You need a state photo I.D. to buy any of these, yet the state of MN doesn’t even have this simple requirement in order to vote.
There are only two sides here: Those who want to stop fraud and those who will be irreparably harmed if the fraud is not allowed to continue.
