Dear xxx,
The Senate just passed Wall Street reform. The bill will become law the moment President Obama signs it.
This reform represents the boldest financial regulations since the aftermath of the Great Depression -- and the strongest consumer protections in history.
Every door you knocked in Iowa, every phone call you made in Ohio, every dollar you dug deep to give -- it's all for this. The Recovery Act, health reform, and now Wall Street reform, on top of everything else. In a year and a half, this administration has made bigger, bolder progress than any president's in decades.
We have a president who fights for all of us, every day. We have you, the best organizers this country has ever seen, who flooded Congress with calls and letters, had millions of conversations with friends and neighbors, went toe-to-toe with the country's most powerful special interests -- and won.
And we have members of Congress who bravely stood with the President, even as right-wing groups have pledged $200 million to defeat them in November's elections.
First, take a moment to celebrate. This is an achievement that will make American lives better and protect our economy for generations to come, and it absolutely wouldn't have happened without you.
Then, take a moment to thank the members of Congress who stood with us and supported these landmark reforms. In the coming days, they'll be taking a lot of heat for defying Wall Street -- and they need to know they have our gratitude.
Organizing for America supporters are signing a note of thanks to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and all of the allies in Congress who stood up for reform.
We'll deliver these signatures to leaders in Congress who supported reform, after the President signs this into law.
Thanks for all you did to get us here. I'm so grateful to be making history with you, and I know the President is as well.

“Every door you knocked in Iowa, every phone call you made in Ohio, every dollar you dug deep to give — it’s all for this. “
Just wait until these stupid a$$es come in to get a mortgage, withdraw money from their 401K, get a credit card.
They will be screaming unfair treatment to the bank employees who say “Sorry, we can’t process your transaction today; it will be 2 more weeks”.
This industry already is choking in regulation.
Yeah, I got the “we won” email. I responded that, yes, they effed us, but come November, they’d better stock up on KY.
Yes, they won and America lost. Thank you Scott Brown.
“Just wait until these stupid a$$es come in to get a mortgage, withdraw money from their 401K, get a credit card....”
EXACTLY.
They will either be turned down or be charged confiscatory fees that make their eyes bleed. Then the bankers will get the blame as being greedy capitalist pigs. Politicians will get involved to force banks to lend money to certain people who typically vote democrat. More intrusion into the bank business that will force the banks into insolvency. Then the banks will be forced to beg for money from the politicians that set them up in the first place.
This financial bill only strengthens the obama policy of “Set them up, shake them down”. Just a more complicated and sophisticated version of zero down home loans to certain lenders.
It another case of kicking the can down the road. This will implode under it’s own weight and we will go through another financial meltdown somewhere down the road.
By that point, the current rats in dc will be retired or passed away so they will be never be held accountable for their actions.
Here we go again.
Be prepared. It may be 10 years down the road, but this will come back to bite all of us later.
Scott, what happened to you son?
Easily one of the most depressing things I’ve ever read.
**Organizing for America supporters** are signing a (note) of thanks to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid.
Any bets about the November elections be fixed?.
The easy part is to vote out all the socialist Democrats. Where I live, we have more Democrats in office than Republicans; so that’s a no-brainer. The difficulty comes in choosing among the Republican candidates. Most Republican candidates are running on the conservative, anti-Obama platform, but are they real conservatives? Maybe it is better to have a RINO than a Democrat, but not by much.
I don’t go for the reach-across-the-aisle BS. I want a candidate who will not compromise, who will adhere to the principles this country was founded upon. I’m not sure there are that many candidates who will.
In Nov. we are going to say ‘we won’!
And the 3rd biggest drop in consumer confidence in history:
Yes and then defund everything Obama&Co. has passed.
The Dems are also corrupt. To let Frank and Dodd come up with a bill on financial reform is insane. Amazing they are okay with monitoring personal transactions of every person, giving the FED more power. This is just as bad as Obamacare. They don't know what they voted for.
There must be a lot of skeletons hiding in Freddie and Fannie to just brush it aside.
What puzzles me about this vote is, the people of MA weren’t in favor of this bill, or at least not passionately enough so that it would hurt his election chances.
You are the country's most powerful special interest. D**khead.
In the coming days, they'll be taking a lot of heat for defying Wall Street -- and they need to know they have our gratitude. Organizing for America supporters are signing a note of thanks to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and all of the allies in Congress who stood up for reform. This is a Democrat bill.
