“don’t know if you’re entirely nuts, but your post is entirely nutty.”

Why don’t you try to disagree on the merits instead of taking shots at me? I don’t incense Krauthammer’s altar. He is nothing but a part of the Washington Establishment. If he is wrong about Reagan, Palin and Obama, I am going to call him on it. Go back to your basement.

I have never understood the reverence so many conservatives have for Krathammer. He is at best a neocon (liberal on social issues) and definitely an elitist, yet so many conservatives hold him in awe.

Elitist for sure.

Bam! I didn’t know Kruathammer was a Carter/Mondale supporter against Reagan. Ack.

Thanks. I don’t detest the guy. He occasionally writes some intelligent pieces. But he is just wrong here.

by your reasoning, reagan’s having been a democrat and a union official would confirm that he was not a conservative

That bears repeating. The "purists" on this board would have roasted Reagan for not being Goldwater had the Internet existed in 1980.

Krauthammer is brilliant. I don't agree with everything he says, but I don't agree with Limbaugh or Palin all the time, either. To say that he doesn't have any "standing" because he was once a liberal is nonsense.

Hey, Brice -- how's about a little link to what Krauthammer wrote, so that we don't have to depend on you for the juicy quotes.

It's not that I don't trust you .... well, actually, it is that I don't trust you. Nothing personal: I don't trust anybody who writes a long, linkless piece criticizing what somebody else said.

Well done.

I won’t be voting for Krauthammer, I’ll be voting for the next REAL President of the United States, Sarah Palin.

If Krauthammer is attacking Palin and not checking his facts about death panels he still is a lib.

Krauthammer, a statist at heart...

This disease seems to infect everybody who becomes "of Washington".

Even our guys. Once in the citadel of power, they become enamored with power.

More than anything, this next election is not so much Democrat vs Republican, or liberal vs conservative...but Washington vs the rest of us.

It won't be enough to elect a Republican Congress or, dream of dreams, a conservative Congress. We can't relax...and let our own representatives succumb to the siren's call.

Elect them!

Hold their feet to the fire!

I hope the chauvanist has-been retires to the dog track. He is as helpful to conservatives as Lindsay Graham and Michael Medved.

They are likely to have 51 or 52 after 2010.

In 2012, they are virtually certain to pick up at least 8 more: Nelson in Florida; Nelson in NE; McCaskill in MO; Tester in Montana; Conrad in ND; Casey in PA; Webb in VA.

Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio will be very competitive and likely to flip as well. They won 12 in 1980. They could easily win 10 this year and 11 in 2012. And they are replacing RINOS like Bennett and Murkowski as well. It is going to be a whole new ball game.

Writes Krauthammer, I have a warning for Republicans: Don’t underestimate Barack Obama. Seems like good advice to me.

“...........he was less than enthusiastic about McCain”

As were many of us. Unfortunately, by the time Florida happened, we knew we were screwed.

“To say that he doesn’t have any “standing” because he was once a liberal is nonsense.”

He doesn’t have any standing because he is still a liberal on domestic policy. and if he tries to reinvent Reagan to suit his purposes in praising Obama, I am going to remind everyone where Krauthammer was in 1980 and 1984 when many of us were in the trenches with Reagan.

His response to ObamaCare is reflexively liberal. Raise taxes. It is right there in his column. You did read the column didn’t you, before pronouncing him “brilliant” and any criticism of him to be “nonsense”?

I don’t accept anything or anyone at face value. Only a drone does that.

Krauthammer and his RINO ilk are stealth commies; they can’t capitulate fast enough, all the while saying resistance is futile.
