Dick Morris: The End of the Post-racial Presidency
Newsmax ^ | 16 Jul 2010 | Dick Morris

The very basis of Barack Obama's entire political career has been the assertion that he is one of the first examples of a post-racial politician.

Obama consciously eschewed the notion that his presidency was notable for the triumph of a black politician and focused, instead, on what it said about the irrelevance of race to the political process.

When the Clintons sought to inject race into the election by harping on the polarization of black support for Obama and likening his triumph in the South Carolina primary to that of Jesse Jackson, the Obama supporters cried foul and accused the former first couple of injecting race into the contest.

Now, Obama is letting his supporters strip away his image of a post-racial president by their increasingly racial rhetoric and his support for radical black activists.

Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to prosecute the new Black Panther members so obviously guilty of racial intimidation at the Philadelphia polling places in 2008 is of a piece with the NAACP's loud denunciation of the tea party movement as racists, likening it to the White Citizens Councils of the segregationist past.

And the Obama administration's decision to sue to overturn the Arizona immigration law — despite the fact that Americans approve of the statute, and disapprove of the lawsuit to void it, by 59-28 — is an attempt to foundation his appeal to Latino voters in racial terms.

In a bid to increase enthusiasm and, therefore, turnout among minority voters, Barack Obama is sacrificing his white support and his non-racial image.

Already, the results of this disastrous strategy are apparent. The latest FoxNews/Opinion Dynamics survey shows that his job approval among Democrats has fallen from 84 percent two weeks ago to a mere 76 percent today.

With just a few exceptions the media still refuses to hold him to task over his decisiveness.

I continue to maintain Obozo’s marxist, narcissist personalty will either (1) never allow 2012 elections or (2) know his ACORN/SEIU voter fraud will insure his “election”.

How many in the upper levels of the GOP knew who was pulling the Fuhrer’s strings and how far back the plot to destroy our country was conceived? Silence at all levels seems very suspicious as well as sinister, don’t ya think?

There's little differences in the "two" parties anymore. Most of them feel inshrined in Washington, and would sell their mothers to keep their status, no matter how much it stinks.

Truth be told, you are completely right! The elephants are too quiet while the Jack Asses take our country apart and then and then to “rescue” America, the Pubbies will come in and slow the lurch towards socialism. Notice I used the word ‘slow’. They never go in and say that we will repeal the whole slate of socialist policies and get back to Freedom and Liberty.

It means that 25% of self-identified Democrats are disappointed in him.

While it doesn’t mean they would vote Republican, it
doesn’t bode well for his re-election if they don’t show up at the polls.

Yes, but remember that she would battle the same high negatives that Sarah Palin would.

Plus, I’m not sure that this country wants to establish Bush-Clinton dynasties.
