America's Ruling Class -- And the Perils of Revolution (Long, but very worthy and important read)
The American Spectator ^ | July, 2010 | Angelo M. Codevilla

Posted on 07/18/2010 4:50:26 PM PDT by LuigiBonnafini

As over-leveraged investment houses began to fail in September 2008, the leaders of the Republican and Democratic parties, of major corporations, and opinion leaders stretching from the National Review magazine (and the Wall Street Journal) on the right to the Nation magazine on the left, agreed that spending some $700 billion to buy the investors' "toxic assets" was the only alternative to the U.S. economy's "systemic collapse." In this, President George W. Bush and his would-be Republican successor John McCain agreed with the Democratic candidate, Barack Obama. Many, if not most, people around them also agreed upon the eventual commitment of some 10 trillion nonexistent dollars in ways unprecedented in America. They explained neither the difference between the assets' nominal and real values, nor precisely why letting the market find the latter would collapse America. The public objected immediately, by margins of three or four to one.

The irony of the ‘ruling class’ is not that it’s made up of the wealthiest and most talented, but instead run by the dregs (entertainers) and run by the welfare class, the perversely develop idle class who live on the money of the taxpayers.

I don’t mind helping out the mentally ill and genuinely handicapped, but so many are having dozens of kids out of wedlock and the responsible are having less children because they have to work day in and day out.

American paying for cable & sat TV each month and watching TV keep these people in control. The serfs accept dhiminitude for ball games and reality TV.

As longs as they control TV - they can do anything they want.

the U.S. economy's "systemic collapse."

That is the rats goal. Tear it all down and replace with marxism.

Reminds me of the GI Joe episode where Cobra hijacks the airwaves. Quotes (more or less) from CC was “television is their friend” and “they believe what TV tells them.”

Long article to avoid saying this:

Ephesians 6:12
For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

That is the rats goal.

It is the establishmentarian wing of the GOP's goal, too. You are witnessing history in the making; A coup by the global banksters to instill economic terror so as to bring down America's quaint affection for nationalism and that tired old piece of paper called the Constitution.

The GOP leadership is fully complicit with the DEM leadership.

It's why the Tea Party movement scares the shit out of them. Whether Palin has been co-opted into the dark side remains to be seen. I pray for America.

I trust Freepers will read the article. It is profoundly important.
The very real revolution in which we are engaged must occur with principled discipline. Our failure to adhere rigidly to the Constitution as we dismantle generations of tyranny will merely perpetuate that tyranny.
The ruling class must be abolished as an unworkable and illegitimate imposition of undemocratic government. Creating an environment in which citizens assume responsibility for the necessary activities of government without themselves becoming a ruling class must be our primary goal. The Constitution brilliantly outlines the means to accomplish this. We have surrendered its design out of indolence and moral passivity.
Surely it is time to save our nation from the demons that are now engineering our destruction.

“The serfs accept dhiminitude for ball games and reality TV.”

I travel frequently on business to third world communist countries to which we have exported good paying middle class factory jobs. Driving through both rural and urban areas in the evening I notice that many squalid huts have televisions. Religion may have been the opiate of the masses in earlier centuries. The twenty first century masses in developed and undeveloped countries are mesmerized by the boob tube. It makes the job of ruling much easier when humans can escape to an imaginary place by staring at a sheet of glass.

Great post.
As a child with that fraud Cronkite it was pretty bad. I think sat/cable TV consolidated even more power because the roughly 5 networks control 99% of all the channels.

Sports back in the 1970s had far less politics. The NBA, NFL, MBL, NCAA and ESPN have such an agenda for Obama. The PGA tour and TV endlessly fawned over Tiger and still do. There is a huge agenda behind almost everything.

People may claim Fox News but the Saudi investment and Murdoch backing Tony Blair who launched the islamification of the UK and Murdoch backed it.

I think post-2008 election people shrugged like Atlas. Newspapers and magazines imploded but TV remains. I cancelled it a year ago because I finally got the full connection of the control.

Now he wants control of the Internet helped by Google and the phones companies etc. He controls banking, health care, the internet and now energy.

TV is used to control the masses. People will trash the GOP but if you come out of the crowd then they go in full attack mode. The Dems control the media and all the dirt. Something small and they will destroy a Repub. If you play ball and are a Democrat like McCain, Snowe, Graham-nesty - they fawn over you.

TV and media hype replaced religion in the West and non-islamic countries.

It's why Reagan, Buchanan, Nader, Palin are so demonized. They don't/didn't control them. It is why it is so likely that the next president & most of the cabinet will be CFR/NWO/Trilateralists.
