If the federal government is the controller of immigration then it is the sanctuary cities and states that should be sued for ignoring federal law.

Palin has WHAT to do with this?
Is she getting money? If not, she is surely elsewhere.
She’s just in it for the bucks.
I’m fine with that. But don’t confuse it with anything else.
Like Ozzy or Al Gore.. she make appearances.

Cause for concern from earlier (ACLU) hearing:Judge doubts the constitutionality of Arizona's immigration law
A federal judge on Thursday expressed skepticism that a key part of a controversial Arizona law to control illegal immigration is constitutional.
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton noted at a hearing that the U.S. Supreme Court has long barred states from creating their own immigrant registration systems. She said the Arizona measure's stipulation that makes a crime of failing to have immigration documents may violate that.
John Bouma, the attorney representing Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, tried to convince Bolton otherwise but eventually gave up. "I didn't have the feeling I persuaded you last week either," he said, alluding to a previous hearing.
Bolton did not issue a ruling.

Laz, I don’t want to hijack this thread or start a war so I need your sage advise. What is the big issue about someone “pimping a blog”? If I click to the blog, my guess is that that click somehow may generate revenue for the person with the blog. As far as I understand that would be paid by ads, other links, etc. I don’t believe any of my tax money goes to it. I thought most were for the entrepreneurial spirit. What am I missing?
To: Responsibility2nd
Youve hijacked your own thread by calling attention to how inept you are at posting. I have been posting for seven more years on FR than you have, doofus. And the only one who has hijacked this thread is YOU, with your insipid and distracting comments. Either contribute, or get lost.

That requirement was probably intended to oppose the sanctuary cities who blatantly disregard enforcing immigration law and in fact unlawfully and actively prohibit local law enforcement officers from doing so.

While waiting for the next update, here is an excellent, full synopsis of what took place at the 10:30 hearing (the ACLU et al Lawsuit). Judge Botlon hit both sides hard, and questioned the legality of some provisions of SB1070. But analysts said her questions "made it clear...that she will not invalidate the entire law." We shall see...
Judge questions SB 1070 assumptions

Regardless of the court's ruling, the state should enforce the law anyway. What are the feds going to do-- send troops to stop the state from enforcing the law, when they've failed to send troops to enforce it in the first place? That would be political suicide and the prelude to a real revolution.

That’s probably what will happen. Most of it will go into effect but some will be put on hold allowing both sides to claim victory.

“What are the feds going to do”
Well, they could tie them up in the courts and try to break the state budget with endless litigation.
Don’t forget, the feds can ‘print’ what ever amount of money they need to keep fighting Arizona.

Update from
AZ Daily Starexcerpt:
Bolton's questioning made it clear, though, that she will not invalidate the entire law.
and:
Constitutional issues aside, Bolton was also focused on that issue of harm, a key element in any decision she has to make about granting an injunction. Bouma said the claims presented by the individuals and groups represented by MALDEF and others are speculative at best.
Doesn't look like there will be a decision made today. I like to thing that this is a good thing.

Doesn't look like there will be a decision made today. I like to thing that this is a good thing. Hard to prove "harm" from a law which has yet to go into effect. Of course that hasn't stopped many a progressive judge in the past.
