We began our series on Journolist earlier this week with the expectation that our stories would be met with a fury of criticism from the Left. A hurt dog barks, after all.
The response hasnt been all that furious, actually, probably because there isnt much for the exposed members of Journolist to say. We caught them. Theyre ashamed. The wise ones are waiting for the tempest to pass.
There have, however, been two lines of argument that we probably ought to respond to, if only because they may harden into received wisdom if we dont. The first is that our pieces have proved only that liberal journalists have liberal views, and thats hardly news.
To be clear: Were not contesting the right of anyone, journalist or not, to have political opinions. (I, for one, have made a pretty good living expressing mine.) What we object to is partisanship, which is by its nature dishonest, a species of intellectual corruption. Again and again, we discovered members of Journolist working to coordinate talking points on behalf of Democratic politicians, principally Barack Obama. That is not journalism, and those who engage in it are not journalists. They should stop pretending to be. The news organizations they work for should stop pretending, too.

A cogent, reasoned response from Tucker Carlson. More than the lefty ‘journalists’ deserve but still a good piece.
One final note: Editing this series has been something of a depressing experience for me. Ive been in journalism my entire adult life, and have often defended it against fellow conservatives who claim the news business is fundamentally corrupt. Its harder to make that defense now. It will be easier when honest (and, yes, liberal) journalists denounce what happened on Journolist as wrong.
Where's that graphic of pigs flying?
“Again and again, we discovered members of Journolist working to coordinate talking points on behalf of Democratic politicians, principally Barack Obama. They worked to personally destroy Sarah Palin and her family.
Fixed that for ya Tucker.
They sure did and for this I hope they all roast in hell
If there are footprints that lead back to the Obama administration on this then we have crossed another line altogether.
We probably need to make a public awareness campaign about these Journolist “journalists”, e.g.,by printing bumper stickers, posters, youtube videos, etc.
Journalists pursue the truth. Journolists pursue lies.
I have been sending the stories out in email with an explanation of what a listserve is. I know they are getting passed around.
It didn’t take Journolist to figure that out, though. Mr. Matthews was very upfront about what would happen to her if she deigned to run in 2012.
Somebody appears not to have spend enough much time down south, lol.
Alliteration, Tuckster, alliteration. A hit dog will holler.
Which I found here
Of course someone would probably need permission to use it
It’s great, but perhaps non political junkies will not get the message. They may simply think it’s one of 0bama’s fans club (which is true), without being curious what Journolist is.
