Putin says he sang patriotic songs with Russian spies deported from United States

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said he had met with Russian spies deported from the United States following Russia-U.S. spy scandal and sang patriotic songs with them.

"I met with them," Putin said, answering the journalists' questions whether he met with 10 Russian spies deported from the United States after Russian-U.S. spy scandal.

Ten people were arrested by U.S. law enforcement on June 29 on suspicion of being part of an espionage ring.

After the spy swap deal they were deported from the United States. Putin, as a former KGB officer, said he had talked for life with the spies. The premier said they sang songs accompanied by the live music. Among the others, they sang a famous patriotic Russian song "What Motherland starts from".

Commenting on the spies' future, Putin said "they will work". "I am sure they will work in the decent places, I am sure they will have interesting and bright life," Putin said.

Most Democrats—including our currnt 'President'—would not sing patriotic songs with anyone for any reason.

Putin’s view of an “interesting and bright life” may
not be very bright.

Obammy might sing a patriotic Muslim song such as “Let's Stone the Accused Adulteress.”

Having spent some time in the Eastern Bloc, I have my doubts on that. Socialist wannabes should be forced to spend time there and see what socialism REALLY produces.

A “kumbaya” moment. Touching. Sarcasm aside, you’ve got to give him credit for patriotic promotion. When is the last time you can remember a big patriotic reception for an exchanged US spy?

Amen to that. Socialism, both national and international, has been a disaster wherever and whenever it’s been tried, and the extent of the disaster seems to exactly parallel the extent to which it is tried.

That said, however, it seems that Putin is, if nothing else, a patriot. This is just one of many examples: singing a cheezy patriotic song on the occasion of Russians returning to the Rodina. Think he did that for polls, or to win the next election? I don’t; I think he really loves his country. I wish we had that same patriotism among US leaders right about now.

By the way, a youtube presentation of what I think is the song in question is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND10dUAry10&feature=related

Here’s a google translation of the lyrics:

Getting started
Home
With pictures in your primer
With a good and faithful friends
Living in a neighboring yard
Maybe it begins
With the songs that we sang mother
From the fact that in any trials
We have no one to take away
Getting started
Home
With cherished bench at the gate
From the very birches that in the field
By bending the wind increases
Maybe it begins
With spring zapevki starling
And this dirt road
Has no end
Getting started
Home
From the windows of burning away
With the old paternal Budyonny
With somewhere in the closet we found
Maybe it begins
With a knock of wheels
And with the oath that in his youth
Do it in your heart brought
Getting started
Homeland ...

Yeah, cheezy. Still, for whatever reason, that song seems to mean something to many Russians.

Is that what they’re calling it now?

All this ‘Russian spy’ crap makes me miss the ‘Get Smart’ TV series where a secret cell phone was hidden in the heel of Smart’s shoe. It was funny ... and so is this ‘Russian spy’ non-event.

Life is brighter when you live under the Northern Lights, and more interesting when your pee turns to ice before it makes it to the ground where it makes a tinkling sound as it crashes against the permafrost. The heroes and heroines, though, are provided flo-max which will generally allow them to void quickly enough to avoid a dangling yellow icicle.

I think the ones that went back to Russia have a better chance at life than the 4 that we got.

And I'm betting that at least one of them is a double spy. God help us.
