GOP Senate Candidate Ken Buck Calls Birthers "Dumbasses" (CO)

Colorado Republican Senate candidate Ken Buck has once again talked himself into some trouble - this time by calling certain tea-party activists "dumbasses" for questioning the legitimacy of President Obama's birth certificate.

According to the Denver Post, Buck was caught on tape saying in June, "Will you tell those dumbasses at the Tea Party to stop asking questions about birth certificates while I'm on camera." He added, laughing: "God, what am I supposed to do?"

Buck was speaking to a Democratic operative who had secretly recorded the conversation.

Buck, who enjoys strong support from the Tea Party movement, has since somewhat walked back the remarks, though he focused on language, not content.

"I'm not suggesting the language was appropriate," Buck told the Post today. "But after 16 months of being on the campaign trail, I was tired and frustrated that I can't get that message through that we are going to go off a cliff if we don't start dealing with this debt."

Waht’s amazing about your posts is that most 6th graders understand why the “when did you stop beating your wife?” argument is fallacious.

Probably because there is no real evidence to their story.

Obama is a scumbag. However, I have yet to see any real evidence that he’s not a natural born citizen.

It’s more accurate to say that Buck was being ignorant.

He was?

Really? Was he correct to call TEA Partiers ‘dumbasses’?

Or was he correct when he backed off that remark.

Nobody likes a two-faced ‘John Kerry’.

it seems he did know

Well, the Politico says :

Loftus said that Buck . . . was aware he was speaking to a Democratic tracker

Yet it does not quote her on the record to that effect.

In the context of his comment ("will you tell") it doesn't make much sense.

It’s more accurate to say that Buck was being ignorant.

He's saying that there are far more important issues than Obama's birth certificate, and he is quite correct.

Anybody who thinks that headlining the BC issue is anything other than a sure-fire method for joining the whackadoodle gallery really is a dumbass.

So THAT is why Buck has the endorsement of the left-wing Colorado Springs Independent.

The Independent made endorsements on both sides. You can read them for yourself HERE.

If reading is your style, of course....

And, actually, they didn’t even “endorse” Buck — they “recommended” him on the grounds that “we’d prefer to see the strongest, clearest distinctions between the two parties’ candidates going into November.”

“In the context of his comment (”will you tell”) it doesn’t make much sense.”

Only if you think he really wanted the guy he was talking to to physically go and tell the Tea Party to stop asking those questions. It was rhetorical of course and Ill go with the Politico until the campaign says otherwise.

I do not understand the attacks on Birthers by GOPers....

The left has successfully framed the birth certificate issue, and thus birthers, as on the fringe and wacko.

Nothing anyone does will change this. True, if Obama is truly not a Natural Born Citizen, then yes, his being president is a clear violation of the Constitution, and it is a serious matter. That doesn't change the fact that anyone espousing any kind of sympathy for the birther position is going to be savaged by the media.

Anyone who doesn't see and accept this reality is, in fact, a dumbass.

I agree. They are as valuable to our side as the “Bush stole the election” crowd was to the Democrats.

Idiot. Btw, Idi (May I call you “Idi”), the Tea Party has no stand on the birth certificate matter. It’s not part of their platform or goals or whatever you want to call it.

But nobody, not even the subject of this article, has said what you are accusing people of. You are making it up out of thin air. The Tea Party movement was never about a birth certificate.

He's saying that there are far more important issues than Obama's birth certificate, and he is quite correct.

It matters much to his constituency if he wants to get elected.

How Buck should have handled it. Something like this.

Buck to the person and/or Democrat operative: Obama should be forthcoming about his eligibility as it matter much to the American public.

Give a statement or two and move to other pressing issues.

Anybody who thinks that headlining the BC issue is anything other than a sure-fire method for joining the whackadoodle gallery really is a dumbass.

It wouldn't be much of a headline but to the numskulls who watch PMSNBC who are the 'whackadoodle gallery' of 'dumbasses' headed by these clowns.

Really? Was he correct to call TEA Partiers ‘dumbasses’?

How can you ask if he was correct to call someone something that he didn't? He said that about those who were hung up over the birth certificate issue. He did not say that about the tea partiers.

Or was he correct when he backed off that remark.

He didn't back off of it because he never made it. And in the statement he did make, he only backed off of the language used.

This is what Rinos do to the lowlies who vote for their nasty asses. Glad he exposed his Rinoness before conservatives put him in power. The feeling is mutual, Rino losers.
