I don't disagree, but he may be a bit shy of enough time for flag rank. I looked him up to see how his bio compared, but he is ~2 years behind Tyson. Annapolis grad, though.
Dude.
The crowning achievement of my life was to get 50 to 60-year-old career naval officers to parade around in high heels, bikinis, and makeup.
Trust and believe that.
I caught that, too. Don’t really want to hear the answer! lol
She was obviously promoted early and given some of her assignments because she is a female. I don’t care about her time in grade; he is still far more qualified and that needs to be the only criteria.
looks like a desk jockey paper promotion.
This means she is being “groomed” for a joint chiefs promotioni. (is this a DADT set up?)
I don't disagree, SHF. I mainly mentioned time in grade as an explanation of why Capt Miller probably wasn't eligible for the position at this time. I'm sure that there are plenty of officers w/ more time than Miller who were more qualified for this position than Tyson is.
Let's see. She has a a couple of squadron tours culminating with tours as a squadron CO and squadron XO. Captain DeWolfe, who you seem to be so enamored with, has a couple of squadron tours culminating with tours as a squadron CO and XO. RADM Tyson has several staff tours at the Pentagon and with the fleet including joint service posts. Captain DeWolfe has several staff tours at the Pentagon and the fleet including joint service tours. RADM Tyson spent time training Airborne Communications Officers. Captain DeWolfe spent time testing F-18s with VX-5. RADM Tyson has two tours as ships company on carriers. Captain DeWolfe served as a carrier XO. RADM Tyson has a tour as CO of a major surface unit. Captain DeWolfe is in the middle of his tour as CO of a major surface unit. So far I'm not seeing where her resume is any weaker than his is. Maybe you can point it out for us? And give us an idea of your military experience in these areas?
She seems to have spent quite a bit of time as an executive assistant which is nothing more than a secretary.
Don’t see anything even remotely like that on his background.
You greatly overstate her background. Providing hurricane relief hardly compares to his missions.
Probably hundreds of more qualified officers.
And you base that on your vast experience in this area?
Sitting at the right hand of the CNO or a senior admiral is more than merely being a secretary. It is a position where more junior officers learn how to be a senior officer. She has several department head tours, two command tours, and more than enough time to prove herself. Except, perhaps, to you. And fortunately for the military that isn't necessary.
Like that was hard to do...
