I should have added that caveat but didn't think of it as I was posting. My husband and I just had this conversation the other day. Scandinavia, as long as you stay away form the Muslim strongholds is still pretty safe. Though there was a Russian mafia shootout just a block from our flat a few weeks ago. (:

We won't have that luxury. We have an extremely violent segment of our society that believes they are owed stuff, a government that has fostered the mindset and, as you have pointed out, police departments who are now only revenue collectors from the cattle.

We are certainly headed head first into Mad Max times.

Frankly, my “guess” is that the sooner this thing breaks down altogether into open warfare in the streets the better off any survivors will be. As I see it now, we’re in the “Phony War” phase with the various sides exchanging hateful rhetoric, all the while stockpiling ammo and weapons. Oddly enough, I’ve speculated that the end result might well be total re-segregation.

Anyone else post the idea that “they” don’t want us to be able to travel more than 40 miles?

All the violence could be avoided by “letting” the states that no longer want to be part of the collective secede peacefully,

but we know the left viscerally can’t “allow” that to happen.

About as stupid as the money wasted on trains.

Yes, and I don’t see why we couldn’t have electric bumper cars, like those at the amusement park, to commute with!

Truer words were never typed; I’ve been an advocate of the Secessionist movement for years. This thing isn’t too big to fail; it’s too big to succeed.

Secession would be like Meathead watching Archie Bunker move out and leave him with the food bill, heating bill, house payment, utility bill, etc....while he continues to be the professional student working on an Education Degree.

Yeah, and Meathead, of course, not wanting that to happen, and having the ability to use force to prevent it.

3) He is trying to return GM to an economically viable company.

Pure BS. He is using GM as a siphon, to subsidize the production and purchase of these deathtraps is only a means of siphoning money from the public coffers into union pockets. It's a skimming operation. The more iterations, the bigger the take.

If you want to understand this administration, look at as a money laundering/larceny scheme with giveaways to garner support.

Yea, there’s truth in that but the talk thereof is certainly heating up. People in places like Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. have nothing much to look forward to except continuing to be taxed and regulated into the ground by crack pot Commie Senators and Representatives from the Left Coast and the East Coast. At the same time we have little to nothing in common with the Left Coast and the East Coast. Assuming that the Commies tighten their grip on those locations, there’s little to nothing the rest of us can do to stop them in their socialist anti-Christian/anti-Anglo policies.

When hundreds of these electric cars start driving slower and slower when the owners start getting the electric bill or so because they want to conserve battery power they will truly become bumper cars.

Perhaps I worded it wrong. He wants GM to have the appearance of an economically viable company. I have no doubt that Barack Obama would love to crow about turning GM into a profitable company (Hell, Gibby has done it already). It would be a testament to his competence and economic philosophy. But I would be very suspicious if he were to do so. Does anyone how you can find out how many vehicles the federal government buys each year (preferably by make and model)? I would bet money that the government is buying more Chryslers and GM cars and fewer Fords. I would not be surprised if a directive has already gone out to the different departments to order Chevy Volts. They will be parked out on some back lot somewhere, and the sales will be reported as brisk. No, he does want to see GM succeed as a triumph of an American institution, he wants to see GM succeed as a triumph to Obamanomics.

I thought they had already cooked the books on the repayment of bailout money. Seems business must not be as brisk as they would indicate. I wonder how many of the gubmint volts will even run?

Well that's it, the won't run. It will be among the best selling cars in America. The lapdog media will have tingles up their legs. And you will hardly ever actually see them on the road.

Got to see a bunch of them last week @ OSH (not up close) and got to see a Hot Rod "Swick T" do a routine! So the answer is yes!

Soft spot in heart for them.

Maybe more later in a private reply...

You could hang the entire Congress and still not stop it.

Doesn't matter, when can we start?? Every little bit helps, then we'll start on the EPA.

Frankly, I don’t think there are enough tree branches, lamp posts, and bridges to get the job done...Not in D.C. proper...
