As someone who has embraced conservatism for 50 years I do miss the likes of Russell Kirk, James Burnham, Bill Buckley and Milton Friedman. If we have conservative intellectuals such as these today they must be hiding somewhere. I believe, unfortunately, that conservatism has evolved into a political movement and no longer sees itself as an ideological one.

We need both political movement conservatives and ideological/intellectual conservatives working in unison to turn this country from the destructive course it is on. We need a reuniting of the social conservatives and the fiscal conservatives for the common goal of taking back our country. Will it happen? Nobody knows...
