Southern California is truly beautiful. Perfect weather, lovely beaches, surprisingly green and lush with vegetation. I'm a Colorado native who now resides in the conservative enclave of Coronado, just across the bay from the moderately liberal San Diego and when I jog in the morning, I really do marvel at just how stunning this place is.
That being said, it pains my heart at how screwed up this state has become! Ruined by the liberal voters of Los Angeles and the Bay Area who have forced so many ills on what was once the showcase of the world. I really hope this place can pull themselves together but first the voters will have to elect people willing to make some painful changes.

My home state of CA is dying. My mom is still there. We left almost 15 years ago for central virginia which is equally beautiful in a different way and has 4 seasons.
VA still makes sense politically although it flirts with disaster on occasion. We have a new conservative administration doing the Right Stuff, and it has been governed conservatively enough over the past decades that it is not a steaming turmoil of marxist wreckage. Thank God.
