EPA rules biomass power production too dirty to continue
Fox News Channel | 8/5/10

Posted on 08/05/2010 7:48:43 AM PDT by pabianice

Per Fox, the EPA (i.e. ObamaReidPelosi) has ruled that energy from biomass (trees) is too dirty in producing too much CO2 and thus must pay huge carbon taxes or end. A bewildered biomass company CEO on camera said that he didn't understand but that such a tax would end all biomass energy production since it would be unprofitable.

It is clear that Obama's tree-humpers (see video of lunatics in forest "screaming for the trees that have no voices themselves to protest their cutting-down") have succeeded in basically ending tree cutting via another new set of lies from this administration. Folks, Obama has no intention of stopping his insane policies; he's just doubling down.

Obama needs to be impeached, tried for treason and brought to justice.

What about those of us who heat with wood fires? (We only use the trees which have come down during the year, due to lightning or high wind, etc.)

How about harvesting trees for building instead of energy and instead of importing from Canada???

Maybe I’m looking at this too simply...won’t every tree, bush, etc. alive today eventually die, rot, and emit its carbon into the surrounding environment in some form?

I’ve another nine tons of logs to cut, split, and stack to keep us warm for the winter.

When burned, these will contribute nothing to the carbon dioxide count, since next year’s pile is growing as I work.

But the winters are getting worse around here (NH), and I happen to think that summers should be warm.

Just me, YMMV.

CO2 is not a pollutant,
and if we don’t get this BS stopped,
there’s gonna be a violent conflict as a result.

The energy policy of the Left is no energy. It will make no difference what energy source we move to the Left will find a reason to ban it or tax it out of existence. Reliable, inexpensive energy is what drives progress and by extension wealth and freedom, none of which can be allowed to flourish is a state controlled world. Why do you think they are in full attack mode on carbon?

There you go, introducing science and logic into an environmental debate...

And here’s another thing to ponder: in times of drought, old trees feed wildfires, not only burning property, livestock, sometimes people—but they create a LOT of smoke, thanks to not clearing the old trees. Then again, liberals don’t tend to think logically...

Yeah, but, see, then it's not anthropogenic carbon dioxide. It's natural.

This really is too stupid for words. The problem with fossil fuels, assuming you accept that carbon is a problem in the first place, is that they release carbon that was stored hundreds of millions of years ago. The carbon released by burning trees was recently taken out of the system, when the tree grew.

Reid can’t get the votes to pass cap and trade so now we get this.

But that would be Gaia simply promoting the cycle of life (song track inserted here), not you evil human beings destroying everything in sight.

I’ve got two winter’s worth of oak, split and stacked plus at least two or three year’s worth of wood that could be cut and split.
Our house has a ground source heat pump with thermal floor so I could get by without any wood. Still, we have so much of this stuff and I hate to see it rot.

The only "green" energy that is cost effective is too dirty?

Such insanity !

It IS really starting to look like that IS what “they” want....i.e. “conflict.” What with the continual piling on of unconstitutional, freedom killing actions....

-- won't every tree, bush, etc. alive today eventually die, rot, and emit its carbon into the surrounding environment in some form? --

The global warming scam artists say the balance between "in the atmosphere" and "in the ground" is what matters. A decaying tree, on the ground, is harmless. But if you burn it, then trouble.

It's baloney. The carbon in the trees, etc. comes from CO2 in the air, in the first place.
