Skip to comments.Ann Coulter to headline Homocon party for gay conservatives next month in New York City
Posted on 08/06/2010 3:54:38 PM PDT by TitansAFC
GOProud, a Washington-based group that represents gay conservatives, announced Friday that feisty right-wing pundit Ann Coulter would keynote the organizations upcoming Homocon fundraiser party.
Im so tickled that she agreed to do it, Jimmy LaSalvia, executive director of GOProud told The Daily Caller. Think about it: Shes hilarious, shes provocative and, honestly, our folks just love her.
LaSalvia said Coulter was the only person the group asked to headline the party, and she immediately agreed.
Of course Ill do it, Coulter wrote to GOProud when they asked her to join the event. Im the right-wing Judy Garland!
GOProud used that quip to advertise the event, adding, our gays are more macho than their straights! which Coulter wrote in a 2005 article comparing liberals and conservatives.
Coulter took criticism from gay rights advocates in 2007, when she used an anti-gay slur in reference to then-presidential candidate John Edwards. When asked about Coulters past comments, LaSalvia said that he would not give in to political correctness.
This party is about fun. Its not about placating to the PC crowd, he said. Listen, the no-fun police do enough in this world and we want to have a fun party.
The event will be held in New York City on Sept. 25. GOProud would not divulge information about the exact location just yet, but said it would be a surprise.
You’re right—her choices are hers. I just find it incredible that people are even debating this issue, when common sense points to the obvious about it.
Tammy Bruce OPPOSES both "gay marriage" and adoption.
Exactly. Legitimizing their position. They win, they have successfully reframed the argument the way they want to deal with it. Control the debate and language, you win it.
Coulter is Fierce.
That is exactly the situation. The Gay elite (HRC, etc.) pushes for Same Sex Marriage in the face of majority voter opposition to it and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell in the military to advance their agendas and also for their fund raising.
I can tell you that the gay groups (HRC, GLAAD, etc.) are VERY aggressive in their fund-raising. I finally got them to leave me alone, but sure saw how they can get pretty nasty when it becomes apparent that you are not going to fork over your money for their suggested donation to them...
What about Alan Keyes’ daughter? Would she not be permitted to join the AIP?
Bravo Ann! I hope they Youtube her speech! That is going to be fun!
Yes, you can be conservative and gay. Why not? Conservative means preserving the ideals of the Founding Fathers, the words of the Constitution, freedom for all, government out of our business (personal or commercial).
You can be a religious conservative, a fiscal conservative, etc. The main thing is that you need to believe in the rights of the individual over that of the government. FREEDOM.
An oxymoron if there ever was one.
Looks like, at least in this thread, we may be outnumbered.
I agree totally with Jim Robinson's statement:
We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism...
In my interpretation of this snippet, the use of the phrase ``all forms'' is applied to each of the listed items, including homosexualism. I'll readily admit to being a bit of a square but my preference is that Conservatives don't seek alignment with homosexual groups, even if they wave the conservative banner.
And, as I've expressed in similar threads, I personally don't like to use the term ``gay'' for these people. My hope (fully realizing that it may never happen) is that the word is restored to its original definition.
what ever happened to the Ann Coulter rules?
***Thanks for posting that. She’s fine. Maybe she’ll convert some of those homosexuals.
Divide and conquer.
Rather, let's call it what it is. Exceptional conservatism, as in he/she's a Conservative, except _______ (fill in the blank with an issue or two).
Imho, the whole big tent thing was where we lost sight of the goals of Conservatism, the restoration of a Constitutional Republic because of all the exceptions. YMMV
When people are “fans” of someone they tend to defend them. Even if they are wrong. Big tent politics is what got us all these Rinos.
When you mention another freeper, you are to ping them.
Pretending that the moral basis is not the basis for America is like pretending that the foundation is not part of a house.
bttt your post!!
Unfortunately, I don’t think it is.
Anything to bring a few more votes into the tent.
Except “the Big Tent” is what gets us Rinos.
In this case I didn't want to look like I was posting something just to bait Little Jeremiah. So I didn't add Little Jeremiah in the address To: box.
I was just using his post as a reference to make a light-hearted and silly comment regarding the topics that came up in the discussion.
Looking back in this message thread I see that post of mine has already been removed by the moderators.
Little Jeremiah's post in the past thread that I referenced to is still there however...
Good bye America, it was good while it lasted.
It is FR etiquette to ping someone that you are talking about. ESPECIALLY if you quote them or post a link.
With all due respect, I would remind you that compromise is what formed and built this country. Remember your civics, unlike the Massachusetts state assembly! That said, where is the compromise here?
Sorry, I don’t buy it.
She’s a lesbian.
My point exactly. She's a lesbian and a conservative. They exist.
Ann Coulter isn’t so much the right-wind Judy Garland as the right-wing Joan Rivers.
Or GOProud might be under the assumption that Ann is a bitchy drag queen.
When GOProud had a booth at some CPAC or whatever it was, onyx posted a list of their mission statements or whatever you call it. It was around 90% homosexual agenda stuff. It wasn’t conservative.
Like the Log Cabin Repubs, they are not conseravtives. They are homosexual activists first and foremost, riding the coat tails of the “conservative” movement.
That’s the entire story.
Ann Coulter is too smart not to know this. So her reasons are unclear, unless she’s in it just for money, or wants to advance social liberalism.
The homosexual agenda is all about eliminating the rights of individuals.
Homosexualims is forced on everyone else via judicial fiat or legislation. It has nothing to do with freedom, and everything to do with tyranny. The homosexual agenda’s goals - and they’re well on their way - is to eliminate the rights of expression of religion, freedom of association, and freedom of speech.
If you don’t see this, please remove your moral blinders. Or at least take the time to read the truth about the agenda. It’s really hard to miss.
If you read the GOProud’s mission statement, it’s all about the homosexual agenda. It is not conservative.
I wasn’t certain that this group was the same, but now that you’ve posted, I think you must be correct. I recall that I posted the exact agenda of the homosexual group that attended the CPAC convention on a separate thread of its own, so that everyone here could see it for themselves.
Federal Legislative Priorities GOProuds Conservative[ sic ] Agenda The so-called gay agenda is defined by the left through a narrow prism of legislative goals. While hate crimes and employment protections may be worthy goals, there are many other important priorities that receive little attention from the gay community. GOProuds agenda emphasizes conservative and libertarian principles that will improve the daily lives of all Americans, but especially gay and lesbian Americans.
1 TAX REFORM - Death tax repeal; domestic partner tax equity, and other changes to the tax code that will provide equity for gays and lesbians; cut in the capital gains and corporate tax rates to jump start our economy and create jobs; a fairer, flatter and substantially simpler tax code.
2 HEALTHCARE REFORM Free market healthcare reform. Legislation that will allow for the purchase of insurance across state lines expanding access to domestic partner benefits; emphasizing individual ownership of healthcare insurance such a shift would prevent discriminatory practices by an employer or the government.
3 SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM - Bringing basic fairness to the Social Security system through the creation of inheritable personal savings accounts.
4 DONT ASK, DONT TELL REPEAL Repeal of the militarys Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy.
Note - they want open homosexuals in the military!
5 HOLDING THE LINE ON SPENDING Standing up for all tax payers against wasteful and unneccessary spending to protect future generations from the mounting federal debt.
6 FIGHTING GLOBAL EXTREMISTS Standing strong against radical regimes who seek to criminalize gays and lesbians.
7 DEFENDING OUR CONSTITUTION Opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment.
8 ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP Package of free market reforms to encourage and support small businesses and entrepreneurship in the gay community.
9 REVITALIZING OUR COMMUNITIES A package of urban related reforms; expanding historic tax preservation credits; support for school choice.
10 DEFENDING OUR COMMUNITY Protecting 2nd amendment rights.
Everything bolded is homosexual agenda stuff. Wolf in sheeps' clothing is all they are.
I remember that too, that’s why I pinged you! I just found it online and it’s right above this comment.
Note how much of the mission is dedicate do the homosexual agenda. feh
They aren’t conservatives. Including them in the “Big Tent” gets us Rinos. And socialism.

Please note the GOProud's legislative agenda. Note how many of these goals are part and parcel of the homosexual agenda above and how many are actually conservative. Coulter is either stupid (I don't think so), agrees with the homosexual agenda, or is willing to compromise principles for money. Big tent = RINOS = tyranny.
The homosexual agenda means no freedom of religion, association, or speech. For starters.
If that's the case, Ann shouldn't add her support to it.
Her choices are hers to make. We can either agree or disagree.
Well, how much did Jesus compromise when he talked to the prostitute at the well? Confronting is not compromising.
That's right, and if I find hypocrisy in someone who professes to be conservative and then caters to liberal causes for the money, I don't have to throw my money in their direction.
I don't find someone's sexual confusion to be, in itself, liberal. Only when they congregate with the purpose of gaining political power over me and mine do I find it to be a problem.
If, as someone else says, that is the case with this group, and Ann still chooses to support that, then it color her in my eyes.
Quite frankly, since I've never heard of this group before, I don't care enough about this group (or Ann) to find out if that's true or not.
What they stand for was posted in 87. As I said back in the beginning of the thread, I don’t “follow” anyone so I’m never disappointed when my hero/heroine has feet of clay. Apparently Coulter is a “Big Tent” kind of conservative. That’s how we lose.
posting one last time to you....
your provocation does not amuse...
find someone else.
I would hope that she makes her position on “gay” rights public so everyone knows where she stands, at least.
Jesus didn’t tell sinners to keep sinning. He told them the truth.
Her statement that Im the right-wing Judy Garland! kinda makes it clear where she stands.
I would say it does.
I would like to hear (sort of, not really very interested in her positions at this point) what she thinks about GOProud’s legislative agenda above. For instance, homosexuals in the military, same sex marriage, heck - special business opportunities for the “gay and lesbian community”? She considers herself (apparently) or other people consider her a conservative, if she thinks these are good, people who buy her books might want to know.
