I have no problem with Wolves.

If a rancher looses livestock to them...reimburse out of tax dollars.

Wolves don't attack people and as far as I know there's not a documented attack on humans by wolves in over 100 years.

However, Mountain Lions and Bears attack humans EVERY YEAR, multiple time per year.

Should we kill all of them too?

Britain has it’s weirdos also.

“Wolves in Wales appear to have vanished in the early medieval period. The last reference to them is in 1166 when a so-called “madwolf” was reported to have killed 22 people”

“A BIZARRE campaign is being hatched to return wild beasts such as bears and wolves to the forests of Wales.

While most conservationists in Wales are busy trying to bring back the harmless dormouse and rare butterflies from the brink of extinction, the Wild Beasts Trust is going a step further.

It is trying to bring back “man-eating” carnivores that have not been seen in the wilds of Britain for centuries, such as bears, wolves and lynx.

Inspired by the restoration of the osprey and red kite populations in Wales, the Scottish-based group said it is already reintroducing beavers, which have not lived in Britain since the mid 17th century, into Tayside and it has its sights set on Wales too.”

The wolves have the elk herd in Yellowstone and around it cut in half, so less elk to hunt. They are up in the Big Horns so will clean the elk and deer out here.

Wolves don't attack people

Well don't you sling the propaganda around. Wolves do attack people, they attack anything that looks like food. There are many documented attacks on humans in the European records, you might want to take a look at them sometime. The BS about wolves not attacking humans is something the greenies made up in order to justify sticking them back into the states.

Ranchers don't want to be reimbursed they want to keep their herds multiplying and make money selling the meat, wool or whatever.

You are saying, fine, let the wolves kill all the livestock and let the taxpayers pay the Ranchers so they can make a profit and feed the wolves.

People used to say Mountain Lions didn't attack people either but they sure as he** do.

Think about this: Dogs are wolves closest relatives and they attack and kill people almost daily, in the US and other countries, so what makes you think that wolves, who are more vicious than any dog, will not attack and eat humans?

I have a friend who is with Fish and Wildlife in Oregon. They have been working with a rancher for a couple of years who has done everything they suggested to protect his livestock from wolves. He just lost 30 yearling sheep.

When the wolf reintroduction was proposed, supposedly the ranchers would be reimbursed for their losses, but it was never funded so he’s out of luck - as is every other farmer/rancher in Oregon.

Typical liberal thought process - here’s what we want (wolves are nice creatures and won’t it be nice to have them in the wild again) - bend over.

You slightly overstate the case. On rare occasion, wolves attack humans, esp sick, injured, or old ones. Then again, it is RARE. See http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_attacks_on_humans esp compared to other carnivors. I’m with you on this one.

Actually, there have been documented attacks within the past few years. At this URL at Misconception 10 there are several incidents that have occurred within the past few years that discuss wolf attacks on humans.

It has been pointed out that your statement is incorrect.

That being said, as long as people and wild animals co-exist, there will be attacks.

So, although it's sad that the woman was killed, I do not advocate either mass slaughter of wolf packs, nor do I advocate a woman jogging alone along a deserted road without protection.

My opinion is, if you're in the woods, carry a side arm.

"Should we kill all of them too?"

Well, I'll be hunting in Alaska in Sept, and damned sure hope to whack a brown bear. I already have my tags...they are for one brown/grizzly, one black bear and one wolf.

When I'm done there, I'd be happy to come and whack any hanging around your yard.

'Cuz I doubt you are up for it yourself.

Why not just reinstate the Grizzlies and Black Bears to
where they used to be? The Bay Area of California, the
California Foothills, much of Oregon and Washington.

Name them. Post a list of documented attacks on humans. By Bears. By Cougers. By wolves.

If ya cannot.

Then STOP making uninformed emotional blanket statments.

Others who have posted have presented evidence. You have not.

I suggest you have some lame misguided new age spiritual crap connection going on here.

Wolves desimate all wildlife and waste more of each kill.

I am a hunter. This has been passed to me by many generations.

Yes Hunters of European descent do have a just claim for the right to hunt

It is AS JUST as any claim by any so called native American.

Why are you against my right to hunt?
