NY Democrats begin to emerge as supporting Ground Zero mosque
Washington Times - Watercooler ^ | 8/9/10 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 08/09/2010 9:05:40 PM PDT by paltz

The controversial New York City proposed mosque, known as Cordoba House, made it past a large hurdle last week, when a city panel denied the site landmark status making the Ground Zero mosque one step closer to becoming a reality.

Ground Zero is in the district represented by Congressman Jerry Nadler, New York Democrat, who told me in late July, “My feeling is we have freedom of religion in this country. Its not the business of government (not state, not local, not federal government) to tell anybody where they may build a church, or a mosque, or a synagogue, because we don’t like them or anyone else,” he said. “If it’s within the zoning law, government should have nothing to say.”

I remember Nadler: he was the guy that stole Austin Powers mojo, right?

Aptly named too.

The ‘RATS have been supporting the Islamofascists all along. Don’t know why they would stop now. It appears as though the ‘RATS are working to make Al qaeda, the Taliban and Hamas tentacles of the DNC.

There is not a cop or a fireman in the entire city of NY who should ever vote for this SOB again.

But they will, he crosses their palms often, besides, they're union wonks.

Of course this feeling would disappear if he was asked about whether the Federal Government has the right to intervene with Arizona as the try to enforce an existing law!

No, my friend it will bite those conservatives in the ass who, in the heat of hysteria, selectively cast aside the great American values of the first amendment and property rights. In the future, they will have no principle to stand on when some leftist denies them property and religious freedom.

Exactly. And all the “useful idiots” like Nadler are going to be among the first the Cult of Death take out. They’ll slit Nadler’s fat throat in a NY Second.

I am almost of a mind to let the muzzies impose Sharia on the entire US. Meanwhile gun-toting conservatives bide our time in the background. After the great purge of the useful idiots, conservatives can step out of the background, and red-dawn their a$$es. Go Wolverines!

I don't get it. I thought 9/11 was galvanizing. It galvanized me, I know that. So let's suppose a bunch of, I don't know, NRA fanatics, hijack a plane and smash it into the Eiffel Tower, then a few years later, some more moderate NRA fanatics decide to set up an NRA shooting range on the site of the former Eiffel Tower, and some bigoted Frenchies oppose it.

I guess that's a stupid analogy. But the reality we're faced with is a stupid analogy to itself. I just can't comprehend it.

Here's a better analogy: A bunch of fundamental Jews (note, NOT NECESSARILY Israelis) hijack a plane or planes and take out the great Mosque at Mecca. Then the Jews want to put a Jewish Community Center with a sanctuary complete with ark near the smoldering ruins.

Ya think the Muzzies would stand for THAT? Of course, if the "progressive" Muslims running the Saudi Arabian government decide that they don't want to offend the "peace loving" Jews, they could tacitly approve of such a building.

Yeah, yeah, I know that sounds pretty ridiculous, but one need only change a couple locations, religions and governments, and you have EXACTLY what is happening in New York. Then again, the average American is too fukking stupid to understand this, so such a suggestion would be considered bigoted, inflammatory, and (horror of horrors!) racist.

The hate-filled Muslims do not allow Jews anywhere near Mecca or any Muslim country. There are a few left in Iran. The rest - about a million - the Muslims made into refugees when they expelled them. Tolerance is anathema to Muslims.

“Tolerance to evil is only an endorsement for evil.”

“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (Romans 1:21)

You are correct. But, that does not mean that we should not permit this mosque to be built. We are better than them. They don't have freedom of religion. We do, and that's part of what makes us better than them.

Of course, this mosque should not be built (and that's why this new ad campaign on buses is a good thing - build up enough public support, it will be impossible to build the thing). But it's not the government's job to stop it.

Bloomberg, Wiener, Nadler, Schumer - all support the mosque. All are JINOs (Jews in name only). Follow the money.

So, then, none of those generations of cops & firemen had a say in “How Things Work?” The Union told ‘em, and that’s hosw it is! These same inbred union folks not voting for Nadler again, is your proffered opinion. I don’t see them NOT VOTING that WAY- no matter what Nadler or any other politico says or does. These Public Servants are not heroic. They serve themselves, the same as a Nadler does, at the trough of the Taxpayer.

"These Public Servants are not heroic."

Respectfully, I disagree with your statement. Running into burning buildings after 2 jets slammed into them is heroic in my book.

That is why I see building a Mosque close to that ground as offensive.
