I myself see this in so many facets of our World. I see the fractures that exist in our cultures and our peoples all could be erased with the True belief in God.
Degadation and filth rule the day as well as the night.
Keep the lamp burnin' The Messiah is a comin'.
'Amen.
It was a solid majority of 54% Obama to 45% for McCain, Hispanic Protestants only gave him 52% to 48% for McCain.
That majority, as I said, includes Black Catholics and Hispanic Catholics. If you exclude them, the remainder had a substantial McCain majority.
LOL, the Protestant vote that went 54% for McCain included almost the entire black voter population of America, about 1/3rd of the Hispanic voters, I don’t know how many various denominations, including the Episcopalians and whatever other liberal churches, yet with all that dilution, Obama only got 46% of the Protestant vote.
The Protestant vote has only gone Democrat in 1964, and 1932, and 1936.
Hispanic Protestants even vote to the right of the Catholic vote.
Not to be a chauvinist, but I think that the INCREASE in Catholic Republicanism is Greater than the INCREASE in Protestant Republicanism, in the period since 1920.
LOL, that is getting desperately chauvinist.
I didn’t work in statistical computer programming for nothing! ;-)
I wrote that you can always trace it to the candidate.
Ford had his famous “reevaluation” of Israeli policy and was not friendly to Israel. Carter was a hopeful unknown.
You have to remember that in 1980, Anderson (a former Republican) and Reagan together got 53% of the Jewish vote to Carter’s 45%.
In 1984, Mondale was a long time friend of the Jewish community and Reagan had been disappointing in his reaction to the 1982 Lebanon War (saving Arafat for one example.
The simple truth is that until this last election Democrat Presidential candidates - with the exception of McGovern- always were seen - many with justification- as much more friendly to Jews and Israel then the Republican candidate. Some Republican candidates were outright hostile.
Bottom line is that many here want to label Jews as dumb and/or Socialist and such but it has always come down to the man running.
The next election in 2012- unless the Republicans put up someone totally unexpected - should be the definitive test.
The bottom line is that Jews always vote against the Republican, they always vote against the more conservative.
The fact is that it is a perfect uninterrupted record, so to try and come up with excuses doesnt work, pre depression, post depression, pre Hitler, post Hitler, pre war, post war, pre Reagan, post Reagan, pre 1960s, post 1960s, pre Israel, post Israel, nothing changes their vote, so no explanations about a temporary period mean anything. It is a pattern carved into stone.
And some of us Orthodox Jews are getting REALLY fed up with the constant Jew talk at FR. We represent less than 2% of the vote so get real. Trying to play the Blame Game makes FReepers sound like Berlin pre-WWII. Good way to sway opinion.
