Ground Zero mega-mosque will be seen "by many millions of Muslims as a victory

Sam Harris: Ground Zero mega-mosque will be seen "by many millions of Muslims as a victory--and as a sign that the liberal values of the West are synonymous with decadence and cowardice"

In "What Obama Got Wrong About the Mosque," August 13, Sam Harris breaks with the Leftist pro-Islamic supremacism lockstep that usually prevails at the Daily Beast and offers some common sense about the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero:

Should a 15-story mosque and Islamic cultural center be built two blocks from the site of the worst jihadist atrocity in living memory? Put this way, the question nearly answers itself.

"The claim that the events of September 11, 2001, had "nothing to do with Islam" is an abject and destabilizing lie. This murder of 3,000 innocents was viewed as a victory for the One True Faith by millions of Muslims throughout the world "

Even a lot of liberals recognize the mosque would be a victory monument to the horrendous jihadist attack on the US, in the name of Islam.

“....seen as a victory.”

Until it no longer exists - for some strange reason.

Gee, I can’t imagine why it would no longer exist.

Can you?

‘...as a sign that the liberal values of the West are synonymous with decadence and cowardice”

.
The West, with the exception of its armed forces, has been showing its decadence and cowardice ever since 9/11 and before.

I think one of the things that bothers me the most is the design of this proposed building.

You have the Dome of the Crock

The Kaaba

The Five Pillars of Islam

AND NOW THIS! (proposed design of ground zero mosque)

If you've ever been over to the sandbox, you can understand why this object is so VENERATED. Maybe the fact we have indoor plumbing is what angriates them the most.

The name Cordoba Center says it all. Too bad the gutless Republicans won’t talk about the history of the mosque at Cordoba, Spain and call a slap in our face a slap in our face.

I say build it.

During construction, let the FBI/NSA in there, and wire the hell out of it.

It is well past time for the US to realize that Islam is NOT a religion so much as a socio-economic political system that seeks to subjugate the entire world, much as communism in the last century.
Islam has been at war with the civilized world since its arrival over 1400 years ago in the demented dreams of a pedophile pseudo-prophet who ruled by the sword and who commanded his minions to extend their empire by the sword.
The mosque in Manhattan will, in fact, be seen as a victory by the ‘faithful’, and will be touted for years to come as the proof that Islam is superior to anything else in the mind of man.
The ONLY way to avoid this is to PROHIBIT the building of this mosque AND ALL OTHERS in the US, FOREVER...

"Should a 15-story mosque and Islamic cultural center be built two blocks from the site of the worst jihadist atrocity in living memory?"

Should a Shinto shrine be built adjacent to the USS Arizona Memorial?

Same answer to both---NO FREAKIN' WAY.

Thanks, Cindy, for the links.

Also relevant to what goes on in some mosques and I give you one guess, whether it would go on in this one:

German 9/11 mosque closed

"We closed the Taiba mosque because young men were being converted to religious fanatics there. A purported cultural association shamelessly exploited the freedoms of our democratic state under the rule of law to recruit for holy war behind the scenes. This cannot be tolerated.

"We have finally put an end to the spectre behind its walls. The association which ran it continuously promoted jihadist, aggressive and anti-democratic ideology and religious views.".

And more detail in this one:

Longtime al Qaeda operative runs mosque closed by German authorities

"Western intelligence agencies have suspected since the 1990s that the imam in charge of the mosque, Mamoun Darkazanli, is one of al Qaeda's top operatives in Europe."

“Should a Shinto shrine be built adjacent to the USS Arizona Memorial?”
The Japanese lost the war.
The Muslims think they won.

There are already plans to put a gay bar next door at available property - really - to foster understanding ya know.

Other ideas... dog pound to foster understanding of canines between cultures, pig butcher to foster understanding between cultures, ...

other ideas?

If the offensive monstrosity is, in fact, completed maybe we should mount a Jericho Project in which the mosque is constantly surrounded by protesters blaring away on their vuvuzelas.

Taxis and cars could join in the cacophony. Pedestrians could give the New York salute while passing. Street vendors could loudly proclaim the wonders of pork.

It would be impossible to hold services, conduct business or even offer the "call to prayer" so important to these toilet-paper adverse throwbacks to the dark ages.

My apologies but the thought of this mosque poke in America's eye renders me a bit mad.

"The Muslims think they won."

And they will keep thinking that, as long as they can get away with stuff like this Ground Zero mosque.

Time to make a stand, America.

One more thought on this. I’m wondering if these Muslims who claim to be so tolerant would allow a Christian Church to be built close to Mecca?

I agree completely. It has some characteristics of a religion but it is much more than that. It is like a cancer on the body of civilization.
