Just as in “O.J. One” the case was lost in jury selection. The L.A. D.A. was so cocky in O.J. that he was sure the proof would win over the black female jurors. In Blago Fitzgerald permitted a black, female NPR listener to be on the jury. Game, set, match. And that’s assuming she wasn’t bought off.
“Wonder how she looks in orange?”
I don’t know, but I would like to see her in one.
About as much chance as finding 3 wise men and a virgin for a Nativity scene.
Like trying to find a true conservative candidate for Mi governer. Nearly impossible.
Has anyone else received a FReepmail from a reporter, Dawn Reiss about this? I just received one this a.m. and want to see if it is legit (especially as she has a gmail email account).
Re the previous, I checked and the email and phone number she gave me check out and she does seem to work for Time. I’ll email her.
A reporter for Time?
Be careful. (remember who they work for)
I checked out her articles and they are very fair, she also seems to be one of the few people really digging so I may drop her an email tonight and see what’s up. I did confirm the email address and phone number she gave me are legit for a reporter with her name.
“Whitaker’s agency also got caught up in scandal. He oversaw the budget of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, which approves medical construction projects. Rezko and his associates controlled that board, which they used to solicit kickbacks and payoffs, according to testimony at Rezko’s trial. Rezko was convicted.”
The scandal is that Obama wasn’t also indicted and convicted. As state senator, he had sponsored the bill that reduced the number of board members on the IHFPB so as to facilitate Rezko’s control of the board (a smaller Board meant fewer pay-offs/arm-twisting needed to secure enough votes for the “favored” outcome).
Obama has repeatedly said he did no favors for Rezko, but sponsoring this bill alone likely netted that crook hundreds of thousands of dollars or more—meaning that the small bribe Rezko paid Obama in the form of a discounted price for his house and guaranteed empty lot next door (together worth about $300,000 in value) essentially was bankrolled through Rezco’s “take” from Obama’s corrupt deal-making.
