WASHINGTON -- The White House says President Barack Obama is a Christian who prays daily.

White House spokesman Bill Burton made the remark Thursday, hours after a poll showed 18 percent of Americans think Obama is Muslim, up from 11 percent who thought so last year. A third think he's Christian, and 4 in 10 say they don't know Obama's religion.

I did a workup on his Presidential inaugural and oath of office.  Your mention that you were referencing his state Senatoral oath makes the point mute.

Thought you might find it interesting none the less.  Thank you for mentioning which oath you were referencing.

First of all, I had thought you were right.  Per chance, I decided to look around.

I Googled, saw a link to Snopes, and the information there seemed a little too Obama friendly, so I decided to look around more.

Here are several photos that pretty much nail down the issue for me.  Looks like we were both wrong.

I believe it is possible we are confusing a Congressman who elected to be sworn in using a Koran, with Obama.

If anyone else was unclear on the Bible used for the Presidential election, this pretty much lays that issue rest, even though the issue isn't contended here.

Two things:

The way Burton said this in butt-cover Obama-speak fashion translates to "He prays daily, *therefore* he MUST be Christian." I think that Burton, in putting it this way, outs himself that he knows otherwise--that Obama is, in fact, a Muslim.

Second, if Burton personally *knows* that Obama "prays daily," either:

Obama hasn't been successful at keeping his carpet cuddling out of sight, or...

his "daily praying" shows that we've got a bona fide Bitter Clinger on our hands here.

Barack (arabic for "blessed") Hussein (arabic for "handsome") Obama has already he's willing to lie his skinny ass off on everything from keeping your insurance coverage to what he said about the GZ mosque. He had, and still has, every motivation in the world to deny his heritage in order to maintain the political power to see his heritage win out. After all, no confirmed muslim could win election as POTUS in 2010 America, right?

He lives on the knife edge of plausible deniability and he will use it to say one thing and do another until his dying breath. His mission is more important than the truth. It's "Al-taqiyya" - lying to non-muslims on a grand scale. It's how he's wired and there's no changing it.
