If her Mom allows her to do this, then I’ve lost a lot of respect for her mother. She was a horrible actress...saw that show she was on..and dancing is so freaking hard. STAY HOME WITH YOUR BABY. STAY AWAY FROM CAMERAS.

How exactly is her mom supposed to stop her? She is no longer a minor.

I’ve had enough of the brat. I remember people used to wonder what she saw in Levi. I don’t suppose people wonder anymore, she’s has screwed up as he is. I am now wondering how two kids can be so different. Her brother is serving his country and risking his life while she is a teenage mom addicted to the reality circuit.

Perhaps you have had an opportunity to speak personally with Sarah and have some inside information about what she is supporting and what she is not. Too often our first thought and response about someone else’s child who isn’t living up to our expectations is to blame the parents and expect them to issue a cease and desist order to the child. After a certain age, a person must accept responsibility for their decisions and Bristol is, after all, an adult. Sometimes our kids are going to do what they are going to do and nothing or no one can stop them. Having raised a very independent daughter, if I were her mother, among othr thing I would tell her if you are going to persist with this activity, you’d better do whatever is required to win!

Sorry, this is politics, and it’s too important. I feel the same way about Mccain’s daughter. The left uses her. But i guess it doesn’t matter because she’s making money and she thinks they are being nice to her because they like her. Let me tell you something. A loving parent would not allow their child to be USED. And that’s what it is..They are being used.

I agree. Dancing is an art, for crying out loud! Also, Dancesport was once a demonstration sport of the summer Olympics, and may someday become an official sport. The Palins are athletic — there's good reason to believe that Bristol will acquit herself very well at this event.

Anyone, who thinks that it's unbecoming of a member of a politician’s family to be involved in an art or sport, is completely off base, or tone deaf (yes, the allusions are deliberate). Recall Clinton playing the saxophone on the Arsenio Hall show? That gave his campaign a huge boost. It made him seem multidimensional, and “cool”. Canada's PM Harper performed on piano, at the National Arts Centre (he's actually quite good). This has helped his image here immensely.

Dear God, Sarah isn’t running for office, nor is she an elected official at this point in time. I think some on here are jealous as he**. I wish people would just shut up and let them live their lives the way they see fit.

Its so easy to sit behind a keyboard and criticize others, isn’t it? And, I’ll bet that not one of you who are critical, if put in a similar situation, would turn down the money.

Its sickening to read these posts and back seat parents on here. Clean out your own closets!

Why does she keep putting herself out there for more ridicule?

*************

She’s getting paid for it. There are worse careers.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters)- In a surprise announcement, teenage mom Bristol Palin announced she was resigning from “Dancing with the Stars” and witdrawing from the competition. In a press conference, Ms. Palin cited unspecified complaints lodged against her by her competitors and unfair press coverage of her and her family as her reasons for quitting, and said that she planned to spend her time promoting the future of “Dancing with the Stars”, and recruiting and supporting future contestants which would stand for the true values that dancing promotes...

The money? That family has enough money now to retire fir the next few generations. I am telling you, from behind this keyboard, I would not allow my child to do this ifi were involved in politics.

Certainly everyone is entitled to their own opinion and generally some of your points may be considered valid. But Bristol is legally an adult and I understand lives on her own. Sometimes only your love for your child keeps you from strangling them. Competing on Dancing with the Stars will be a lot of work. I suspect that she will give it 110%. Lib heads are going to explode regardless of what the Palin clan does and most of those things are what makes them unique in the political arena and why I can identify with and will continue to support Sarah.

If she lives on her own, her Mommy supports her. Where else would she be getting money from? My gut tells me she will not be on this show. I pray.

Sarah doesn’t hold an office, nor is she running for one. All she does is endorse other candidates. And, they have a right to live their lives the way they see fit. Sounds like some want to be tyrants and tell others how to live, and how their children should conduct their lives.

This is conservatism and freedom? I think not!

Bristol works 2 part-time jobs and goes to college. Does that answer your question as to where her money comes from? Is this Nancy Pelosi? Do you want to do an investigation of where her money comes from to raise her child?

I don’t watch DWTS but if Bristol wants to compete, fine. Better that than wasting time going back and forth with the idiot father of her son.

Little Levi must be steaming that she will be on a show like that instead of him.

RE: “I didn’t know they let fatties on the show!”

It has been noted that many who compete on that show lose weight. Better than starving to do it. And I’m no fan of either Bristol or DWTS, but isn’t this better than baby-daddy Levi making an appearance?

Re: “I am now wondering how two kids can be so different. Her brother is serving his country and risking his life while she is a teenage mom addicted to the reality circuit.”

***********************

I have known SO many families over time where one kid continually messes up his/her life while other kid or kids turn out fine. Same homelife, same parents, same everything. It just happens — and if not for the teenage mom bit and the unfortunate association with Levi, which mercifully will END once and for all when she finally sees the light as an adult — what has Bristol done so wrong?

She’s young and TV shows, etc., are coming after her. There is no way her parents can tell her she can or can’t do anything. All they can do is support her.
