sounds like he should have taken wood working instead of electricity

He probably would have cut his finger or hand off on a dare...you know its hard to tell how powerful band and table saws are..

On a dare, DuBois clipped alligator clips to his nipples and received a severe shock that caused him to stagger and collapse, the lawsuit says.

Some people can learn by reading books...

Some people can learn by watching others...

But some people just have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

I had a science teacher who used to shock us for fun. One day the whole class held hands in a circle while he cranked this device he had built and we all got shocked. He said Benjamin Franklin used to do this at parties.

A lot of the things that Ben Franklin did in his day will get you killed today... Including STDs...

Oh don’t worry, most keyboards have a maximum of 5 volts inside.

I know this is humorous, but... While computers generally run DC voltages of 5v (or 3.3v or 12v) bad things can still happen. I learned the hard way that when you see an electrical engineer with a screwdriver, RUN AWAY!

I was installing a computer network at a packaging firm, and they had one of their EEs wiring up the cubicles. Well, this guy managed to wire a hot ground! When I reached behind the computer to connect the BNC-T connector to the thinnet bus, my wrist contacted the chassis (using the hand-in-pocket rule, from habit) and I got one hell of a burn, and the thinnet cable was ruined at the T connector.

Reminds me of the guy who checked if the 9 volt battery was good by licking it with his tongue...

When it comes to 9V "transistor" batteries, who doesn't do that?

Heh heh heh, one fellow I know swears by this method of checking the strength of these batteries even when a multimeter is near at hand.

I only do it if I don't happen to have a meter handy, and I want to see if the battery is dead.

Man, I would love to be the judge in this case. I would probably be thrown off the bench.

I probably would have sentenced the parents and their lawyer to a punishment similar to the episode they were suing over...

Sorry, but gotta’ tell a story.

I was working on a dryer plug in a rental house. Killed the whole breaker panel. Thought it would be wise to test the circuit before I replaced the outlet. Dropped a screwdriver across the terminals. (Apparently, this circuit came thru a different panel outside.)

I squealed like a little school girl at a Miley Cyrus Concert. (Wrecked the screwdriver, too.)

Back in 1970, I was working in the Avionics lab at the air rework facility at MCAS Cherry Point, when I accidentally laid the palm of my hand across a 400 VDC power supply. I picked myself up off the deck 8-10 feet away. Also learned real quick that the big, black high voltage rubber gloves were a real GREAT invention!

Hehe.. I remember my youngest son watching me do that once with a 9V when he was about 7 or so; he asked what I was doing, I explained- no big deal, I thought.

For the next few months or so, Joshua walked around with his tounge out, 'zinging' it with the 9V... until he found something else to amuse himself with.

This from my super-high IQ gifted kid!
