The Tea Party Express issued the following statement in response to preliminary reports that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware:
"The National Republican Senatorial Committee has reportedly said they will not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware. This is a rash statement that hopefully they will reconsider once good judgment sets in.
"The NRSC tried to meddle in the vote recount for liberal Republican Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. Now they say they aren't committed to supporting their own nominee in Delaware? When will this insanity stop?
"We encourage the NRSC to take a night off, get some sleep, and reconsider their rash statements. It is because of inexcusable conduct in Delaware and Alaska that so many conservatives have turned to the Tea Party Express, offering their support and their donations. These people have lost faith in the NRSC as just another big-government, Washington, D.C.-based organization that has contributed to the problems this country currently faces.
"If the NRSC is committed to defeating Democrats in November, then it is time for them to honor their mission statement and do just that. If they fail to do so, then they can expect millions of conservatives to continue to steer their donations and volunteer hours elsewhere.
"Wake up NRSC, the reason the tea party movement has grown into such a powerful force is because of the failures of establishment organizations such as yours to honor the principles of the Republican Party platform. You tried to force through the most liberal Republican in Congress on the voters of Delaware and they rejected you. Wake up, you are defying your own base, and will end up an irrelevant and impotent organization that serves to only amuse the corrupt political establishment in Washington, D.C.
"The Tea Party Express will back Christine O'Donnell in the general election along with every other candidate we've endorsed. We trust adults at the NRSC will come to their senses and realize that the people have spoken, and it's time for the NRSC to represent the Republicans it is supposed to represent."
Demint really is a hero here.
Agreed, this was not Steele this time. The NRSC is Cornyn's baby.
Um, you don't pay attention to what goes on around here very much, do you?
The National Republican Congressional Committee did this same exact thing in 2006 in the Arizona district 5 race between conservative Randy Graf and the establishment RINO candidate. They bankrolled the RINO in the GOP primary and when the conservative, grassroots-supported candidate won, they refused to help him in the General election. They’d let their RINO candidate spread all kinds of lies about Graf and left him with very few campaign dollars after the Primary. They basically wrote the Dem candidates talking points and negative ads for her, having used them all in the primary. The republican held district flipped to democrat and the NRCC and the NRC couldn’t have cared less. That’s what the grassroots GOP gets for getting organized and defeating an establishment elite candidate. The liberal agenda of the NRC, NRCC, and NRSC is so obvious.
Great statement and the Tea Party Express in right-on!
As soon as I Post this I’m off to their website to make another donation!
Wake Up America!
Be Ever vigilant!
The Tea party is cleaning up the Republican Party - now on to November to finish the job. The NRSC can support their candidates or get out of the way. The days of status quo are numbered.
- John Cornyn, April 14, 2009
I sent the NRSC and RNC both a letter indicating I would not donate a penny to then this election cycle.
Mike Castle was another Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. I’d rather back a conservative candidate and lose than elect a Republican that votes like a Democrap.
The RNC leadership must get a bonus for each candidate that runs as an R that gets elected. That’s the only thing that explains this “electable” BS. Or, perhaps the GOP is no longer the conservative party.
Id rather back a conservative candidate and lose than elect a Republican that votes like a Democrap. You really put it into focus.
Just their appearance in AK was ‘meddling’.
I think he is up in ‘14
A whiff of ozone, here.
Hewitt is a Mittens fanboy. 'Nuff Said.
Federal election law allows the national GOP party committees to spend up to $174,000 in "coordinated" funds to help Christine win in Delaware. Since they won't spend it helping their own nominee, I believe we should raise this exact amount for Christine's campaign. This will not only help her win, it will send a message to the Washington establishment that we're going to fight for principled leadership with or without them.
Effective immediately, the Senate Conservatives Fund will begin raising support for Christine's campaign with the goal of raising $174,000 by next week.
Its really very simple and very instructive......Progressives have infiltrated both political parties and all of our institutions. They are systematically outing themselves and being exposed for who they really are.
Its us against them.
Support Jim DeMints Senate Conservatives Fund and the individual candidates.
6 weeks to get the independents and Reagan Democrats on board.
Anybody know what the breakdown in DE is R vs D vs Unaffiliated?
I suspect that there is a huge upwell of support from independants and PUMA style democrats.
We know what the Dems are going to throw at Christine. She needs to come out and make a speach addressing them ALL.
Thus she will be innoculated from the repetetive questions of the 5th column press. She can then focus on the issues of Medicare cuts, repeal Obamacare, Stopping Cap and Tax, Cutting Government Spending.
The GOP Ruling Class establishment has detested its base voters for years. And now look what they’ve done: why those damn voters have gone and stolen the elections!
That's what the RNC and NRSC don't get. There is no difference between a Republican that votes like a Democrat and Chuck Schumer himself. Each seat gets vote.
Is it conservative or liberal?
Get a grip, newbie!!
And Reagan thought they hated HIM.
She could use that as a platform, too: ‘Apparently I’ve made all the right enemies within the Ruling Class’.
I love my Tea Party Express.....God Bless all of you!!!!
Well, it appears the Tea Party Express just showed themselves to be fools and not a serious adult organization that would wait for the facts (truth) to come out. Nor privately contact the RNC/NRSC to find out more. Before issuing a silly as$ statement that only could help to cause chaos among our very own. The Tea Party Express is quickly becoming self obsessed and media hungry.
Oh really? Researched this thoroughly did you? I would suspect not, but instead, immediately assumed that it was a lie when you read it and yet...we saw with our own eyes the NRSC dispatching individuals/lawyers to AK to ‘meddle’ in that. The Teaparty Express stated upfront that the statement was based upon ‘preliminary reports’. It was a warning and from all accounts today, it worked extremely well.
The NRSC never (NEVER) said it was not going to support O’Donnell. This was nothing more than media speculation and hype... The Tea Party Express fell right for it and immediately released some childish “press release”. Please.
The Tea Party issued a warning and pretty clearly stated that it was based upon preliminary reports. Now if you have proof that they never (NEVER) said it, I'm sure everyone would be interested to see that. That can be found in anything positive that they may have written about O'Donnell before yesterday; of which you will fine NOTHING.
I don't know what your agenda is but based on the actions of the NRSC in recent days, they do not deserve the benefit of the doubt which you seem so insistent on announcing.
Today's stunning reversal from Cornyn and Steele shows the Tea Party and public pressure worked. It's remarkable that there are people that still trust the 'ruling class'. And will probably continue to trust them even when they are diving off a cliff.
“Wake up NRSC, the reason the tea party movement has grown into such a powerful force is because of the failures of establishment organizations such as yours to honor the principles of the Republican Party platform. You tried to force through the most liberal Republican in Congress on the voters of Delaware and they rejected you. Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
Is that you Karl Rove?
I think Rove and some others’ reaction to the O’Donnell win disproves your allegation right quick!
It's been fun: Johnny, tell him what his consolation prize is...
LMAO! You are either:
a) an idiot
b) a troll
c) an idiot troll
d) all of the above
The Tea Party Express is actually controlled by a group of Extraterrestrial Reptiles.
They don't play cards; however they can treat you to a mean game of Parcheesi.
You have yet to explain yourself.
Please do so.
No, don’t bother troll.
How very shallow of you...
You made a statement and I asked you to prove it...
That's exactly what free speech is me with in countries ruled by Islam.
Free Speech isn't a one way street Imam...Deal with it.
The Tea Party Express is a GOP Establishment front group, playing cards very carefully.
The Tea Party Express single handedly put O'Donnell over the top with its last-minute intervention in the Delaware primary. Mike Castle *IS* the GOP Establishment.
Your post makes no sense. Your post is either trollish or woefully ignorant.
Re: your #106 about the NRCC and NRC leaving Graf high and dry after he beat their pro-Amnesty creep. I remember Karl Rove being questioned about it and he replied that at least now GWB had a Congress “he could work with”. IOW it was worse than their not caring—they actually WANTED the good Republican to lose.
Rove laid it pretty well on the line this time too, only this time he’s getting lots of exposure and I believe he has significantly damaged his political creds. At least I hope so. I’m sick of the enemy within.
LOL...we knew this one was coming (sooner or later). It was only a matter of time as one FReeper told this poster.
PING to #117:
There’s a link to donate to Christine O’Donnell through the SCF. The SCF is raising an amount of money for her equal to the amount of money that the NRSC won’t give to O’Donnell. I doubled my previous contribution to her, and I suggest you all do the same.
DOUBLE DOWN ON CHRISTINE!!! (God, I hope that’s not a double entendre.)
Most likely a case of self inflicted "HUOA"
