Tea Party Express Responds to NRSC

The Tea Party Express issued the following statement in response to preliminary reports that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware:

"The National Republican Senatorial Committee has reportedly said they will not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware. This is a rash statement that hopefully they will reconsider once good judgment sets in.

"The NRSC tried to meddle in the vote recount for liberal Republican Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. Now they say they aren't committed to supporting their own nominee in Delaware? When will this insanity stop?

"We encourage the NRSC to take a night off, get some sleep, and reconsider their rash statements. It is because of inexcusable conduct in Delaware and Alaska that so many conservatives have turned to the Tea Party Express, offering their support and their donations. These people have lost faith in the NRSC as just another big-government, Washington, D.C.-based organization that has contributed to the problems this country currently faces.

"If the NRSC is committed to defeating Democrats in November, then it is time for them to honor their mission statement and do just that. If they fail to do so, then they can expect millions of conservatives to continue to steer their donations and volunteer hours elsewhere.

"Wake up NRSC, the reason the tea party movement has grown into such a powerful force is because of the failures of establishment organizations such as yours to honor the principles of the Republican Party platform. You tried to force through the most liberal Republican in Congress on the voters of Delaware and they rejected you. Wake up, you are defying your own base, and will end up an irrelevant and impotent organization that serves to only amuse the corrupt political establishment in Washington, D.C.

"The Tea Party Express will back Christine O'Donnell in the general election along with every other candidate we've endorsed. We trust adults at the NRSC will come to their senses and realize that the people have spoken, and it's time for the NRSC to represent the Republicans it is supposed to represent."

Why spend our money to help the Democrats advance their agenda?

That's what the RNC and NRSC don't get. There is no difference between a Republican that votes like a Democrat and Chuck Schumer himself. Each seat gets vote.

Is it conservative or liberal?

And Reagan thought they hated HIM.

She could use that as a platform, too: ‘Apparently I’ve made all the right enemies within the Ruling Class’.

Well, it appears the Tea Party Express just showed themselves to be fools and not a serious adult organization that would wait for the facts (truth) to come out. Nor privately contact the RNC/NRSC to find out more. Before issuing a silly as$ statement that only could help to cause chaos among our very own. The Tea Party Express is quickly becoming self obsessed and media hungry.

Oh really? Researched this thoroughly did you? I would suspect not, but instead, immediately assumed that it was a lie when you read it and yet...we saw with our own eyes the NRSC dispatching individuals/lawyers to AK to ‘meddle’ in that. The Teaparty Express stated upfront that the statement was based upon ‘preliminary reports’. It was a warning and from all accounts today, it worked extremely well.

The NRSC never (NEVER) said it was not going to support O’Donnell. This was nothing more than media speculation and hype... The Tea Party Express fell right for it and immediately released some childish “press release”. Please.

What are you basing the never on? The American Spectator and the Wall Street Journal (blogs) both said that the NRSC had no intention of backing O'Donnell. And these are only 2 electronic publications among many others. I don't have time to find them all but I also saw where Bret Baier had stated the same thing.

The Tea Party issued a warning and pretty clearly stated that it was based upon preliminary reports. Now if you have proof that they never (NEVER) said it, I'm sure everyone would be interested to see that. That can be found in anything positive that they may have written about O'Donnell before yesterday; of which you will fine NOTHING.

I don't know what your agenda is but based on the actions of the NRSC in recent days, they do not deserve the benefit of the doubt which you seem so insistent on announcing.

Today's stunning reversal from Cornyn and Steele shows the Tea Party and public pressure worked. It's remarkable that there are people that still trust the 'ruling class'. And will probably continue to trust them even when they are diving off a cliff.

Is that you Karl Rove?

I think Rove and some others’ reaction to the O’Donnell win disproves your allegation right quick!
