Karl Rove on Hannity: There Are 'A Lot Of Nutty Things' O'Donnell's Been Saying (VIDEO)
Talking Points Memo ^ | 09/15/2010 | Jilian Rayfield

Karl Rove and Sean Hannity duked it out tonight over Christine O'Donnell's win in the Republican Senate primary in Delaware, with Rove, surprisingly, calling some of O'Donnell's remarks "nutty" and conceding that "this is not a race we're going to be able to win."

"This was about Mike Castle's bad votes," Rove said tonight on Fox News. "It does conservatives little good to support candidates who, at the end of the day, while they may be conservative in their public statements, do not evince the characteristics of rectitude and truthfulness and sincerity and character that the voters are looking for."

Rove pointed out that there have been a lot of questions about O'Donnell's finances, and some of her allegations against Castle. Hannity fired back that he interviewed her about all of those things.

"Did you ask her about the people who were following her home to her headquarters?" Rove asked, adding: "There are just a lot of nutty things she's been saying."

"We were looking at eight to nine seats in the Senate," he continued. "Now we're looking at seven to eight, in my opinion. This is not a race we're going to be able to win."

MNJ, this is what we’ve been telling you for years. I knew you’d see the light.

They insist that we get in line and support the establishment candidate for the sake of Republican control of the Senate, and then do everything they can to undermine the only Republican in the race. They don't care about principles, just their precious cocktail parties.

It is time for them to line up behind us. They don't know how to lead anyway.

Rove=the Architect of the Dem Majority in Congress and Barack Obama. Nice work.

No surprise that he wants to tear down Christine O’Donnell.

Should be interesting listening to Rush and Hannity today. Both are very close to Rove. Like to see how they walk this tight rope — after they’ve been supporting O’Donnell and trashing the ruling class.

Pass the popcorn.

Rove is a jackass. He also had opined that Sarah’s decision to give up her governor’s position was a bad move.

He and Dana Perrino outed themselves as clueless RINOs’ last night on Hannity.

Not the time to be infighting.

Not the candidate to be doing it over either.

So what are these “nutty” things O’Donnell has supposedly said? Anyone know what Rove is refering to?

Karl Rove: How to destroy your career and credibility in 3 minutes or less. His brand is damaged. Forever.

For me, his brand was damaged forever last year. Our local conservative newspaper, run by the evil Richard Scaife, ran an interview with Rove where he described himself as a "compassionate conversative believer in limited government"....

How do we get the message to Karl that he’s outed himself?

Karl (you idiot), you have the right to remain silent...

Not half as nutty as what the far left wing commies in power are doing to our citizens, our country and its standing in the world community.

I want my party back.

BUMP! I am not leaving the Party, I am fighting to reclaim it from squishy, linguini-spined infiltrators who are more concerned with being invited to swanky parties rather than governing on principle. Purge the pinkos.

The best way to hammer the message home to the RINO clique is for the Conservative movement to pull out all the stops to make sure O'Donnell wins in Nov.

AMEN Johnnie! AMEN!

Just wrapped “Courage & Consequence” to ship back (to Karl Rove (shipping address at Rove’s website)) with note: “Wasted my $ to buy; will not waste my time to read! Regards, Christine O’Donnell supporter. P.S. Donated $ equal to purchase price to O’Donnell campaign.” Rove’s a d-bag!

He can always join David Brooks on the Dark Side, now that he’s exposed himself as a RINO.

Rove was always overrated. The time has come for conservatives to not settle for someone who is so quick to betray our beliefs and what made this country great. Let us not forget Rove played a part of bringing us to this point with getting Obama into the White House with his part in the previous administration so he needs to STFU. Our country is at a point with much damage already and we don’t need another scoundrel who always gives in to the radicals in charge creating even more damage. It’s now at a point where it’s better to go down with a fight. Those who sacrificed for this country in the past are deserving of it with what’s left to salvage, if anything. It would only continue if Rove had his way, lousy b-tard.

Karl Rove: How to destroy your career and credibility in 3 minutes or less.

His brand is damaged. Forever.

It was the most extraordinary, embarrassing spectacle I've ever seen any national poliical figure, Pubbie or DemonRat, put on in public. He totally lost his cool and acted like a frustrated two year old throwing a tantrum. Indeed, it was a tantrum.

I am donating my time and money directly to candidates, like O'Donnell in Delaware, from now on. The RINO machine running the GOP needs to be terminated.

Here in Texas, I'm looking for a credible, conservative, non-Rino candidate to run against Cornyn in the next primary. He needs to go. Permanently. Forever. Tee-totally out of the political picture. Not even dog catcher.

O'Donnell was the first candidate I've ever contributed money to for a campaign. After last night, she won't be the last. And it's not her victory that makes this so, though that didn't hurt.

No, it was Rove. It was Cornyn. Those are the chaps who have made me a permanently foaming at the mouth anti-Rino.

“Karl, you idiot.”

How far Rove has fallen from the days when FReepers were calling him the “Magnificent Bastard”.

He is now only a Lowly Bastard.
