Posted on 09/15/2010 8:28:48 AM PDT by kristinn
The day before the Delaware U.S. Senate primary, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) raised money using the name of the eventual winner, Christine O'Donnell.
A search of Google News on Monday using the search term "Christine O'Donnell" returned a paid advertisement by the NRSC at the top of the search field soliciting donations. A click through on the ad's link went to the NRSC's donation page. This indicates that the NRSC purchased "Christine O'Donnell" from Google.
I did not make a screen grab as it seemed more a curiousity than anything terribly newsworthy at the time. However, with the NRSC letting it be known they will not be funding O'Donnell--and doing so before she even gave her victory speech last night--their hypocrisy in raising money off her name must be exposed.
Cornyn must resign from the NRSC.
The "moderates" in the GOP have all crawled way out on the She cannot win limb. Now is the time to saw it off behind them. Do that and we destroy the RINOS credibility so baldly they will not be able to resurrect it for 2012.
Delaware is a small state. Enough money in O'Donnells coffers can do a whole lot of good there. Much more good then the millions being spent elsewhere like CA.
This is starting to look more and more like the late 1970s when Reagan's wingnuts took back the party from the Rockefeller Republicans.
I really like this post!
Wow. Just wow. Can we petition Cornyn to resign? Who elects him? We need to get busy folks.
Just curious, has Steele’s organization made a statement yet on O’Donnell’s victory? Will they be supporting her or not?
And then in 2014 he must be primaried and lose his seat.
NRSC is the Enemy within. They oppose conservatism.
Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee and I personally as the committees chairman strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine ODonnell in Delaware. I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees which the NRSC will send to her campaign today. We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his partys reckless spending policies in Washington.
NRSC just released a statement of support: http://realclearpolitics.blogs.time.com/2010/09/15/nrsc-chair-cornyn-commits-to-backing-odonnell/
The Senate Republican Caucus. Somehow I don't see Senators Paul, Miller, Buck, Lee, Toomey, and Rubio voting to give this guy another two years heading up the NRSC.
Does "bitter clingers" come to mind?
See No. 10. That said, Cornyn needs to be primaried.
As I wrote earlier, I just canceled payment on a check I wrote to the NRSC today. No more of my money will go to any national repub organization. And, you are welcome Cornyn.
In lieu of family-inappropriate language I shall simply say that these hypocritical traitors are beneath contempt.
(There. How did I do?)
All I’ve heard all day is “experts” saying the GOP blew the chance for a majority. They won’t give a dime to her campaign.Screw ‘em.None of them have any idea whats coming. They had predicted a turnout of about 30,000 for the primary-over 56,000 showed up.Its not an accident.People are PI$$ed!
I have heard that Steele will be supporting her, but nothing official yet.
Still, the fact that we have to even wonder about it is ridiculous.
If and only if she wins.
How many times have the RINOS insisted that conservatives fall in line behind their nominees? Yet how many times have they stabbed a conservative nominee in the back?
This is worse than Lucy with a football.
Wow. This has gotten real ugly, real fast
Delaware Senate ODonnell vs. Coons
Rasmussen Reports 9/2 9/2 500 LV 47 36 Coons +11
Rasmussen Reports 8/5 8/5 500 LV 46 36 Coons +10
Rasmussen Reports 7/14 7/14 500 LV 39 41 ODonnell +2
ODonnell actually polled ahead of Coons back on 7/14.
So expect this race to get a lot closer.
Battle for the Senate
Toss Ups 6
DE: Open (D)
CA: Boxer (D)
CO: Bennet (D)
IL: Open (D)
NV: Reid (D)
WA: Murray (D)
WI: Feingold (D)
Real Clear Politics
GOP 45 + 5 toss ups = 50
GOP 45 + 6 toss ups = 51
So its still doable.
Interesting development. Like to thank I had something to do with that, lol. I have been harrassing them since Alaska’s primary!!!!!! Still want Cornyn gone.
unbelievable traitors to conservatism and integrity.
Cornyn, resign NOW!!!!
moovova just posted this on another thread:
Cornyn felt the crack of the whip apparently...
NRSC Chairman Cornyns Statement On Delaware Senate Race Wednesday, September 15, 2010 @ 11:09 AM
".S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), released the following statement regarding the Delaware Senate race:
Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee and I personally as the committees chairman strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine ODonnell in Delaware.
I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees which the NRSC will send to her campaign today "
Good job Freepers!!!
Well, there is this:
I’m curious as to who started the rumor that she would not have any support?
Be 'STIHL', my heart. :-)
They are in Bed with Obama. They just want their split of the Loot.
NRSC is catching a lot of flak on their Facebook page this morning too, which might signal why they have reversed course: http://www.facebook.com/posted.php?id=9324910069&share_id=160292983980782&comments=1#s160292983980782

NRSC Chair Cornyn Commits to Backing ODonnell
You did very, very well, Paulcy. But I con do better.
I unclog my nose in your direction, sons of a window dresser. So, you think you could outclever us french folks with your silly, knees-bent, running-about, advancing behavior? I wave my private parts at your aunties, you cheesy-leather, second-hand, electric donkey bottom biters.
English bed-wetting types. I burst my pimples at you and call your door-opening request a silly thing; you tiny brained wipers of other peoples’ bottoms.
She has already raised 200k from around the country. I gave her a Sawbuck. It was worth it to read the comments on her site. I hope she raises a million bucks today. Just to P.O. Rove the RINO.
What a failure of leadership by Cornyn. Yesterday he wouldn’t committ to helping O’Donnell, then last night he stood silent as it was leaked that the NRSC wouldn’t help her, now he says they’ll stand behind her and give her funds. Too late.
Bret Bair of FNC started the rumor based on anonymous staffers high up in the GOP.
I suspect it is either some “Melman”s who fear conservatives, or Rove himself who is trying to save face for the Castle falling so soundly.
Think about it folks, Rove himself said anything over 5 points spread is practically a mandate these days.
“Delaware is a small state. Enough money in O’Donnells coffers can do a whole lot of good there. Much more good then the millions being spent elsewhere like CA”
Bingo, we have a winner!
I will contribute more to that race than any other.
Two faced hypocrites. Man, I despise lying politicians.
They've already done so much damage to the woman, they'd better darn well make sure she wins, or her defeat will be on their hands - as well as our outrage.
Wonder how much Crow they will make RINO Rove eat? I should send him a recipe.
Cornyn’s statement at the NRSC: http://www.nrsc.org/nrsc-chairman-cornyns-statement-on-delaware-senate-race
Let’s Start a TWITTER Campaign to REMOVE Michael Steele as RNC Chair . . . just TWITTER @RNC and leave message then #GOP to catalog. If you want to Tweet Mikey it’s @ChairmanMSteele and #GOP to catalog. WE NEED AT LEAST A COUPLE THOUSAND TWEETS A DAY TO GET OUR POINT ACROSS!
@rnsc to tell them what you think of this scam.
No more STATIST Republicans. No more RINOs.
Not sure... here is a bit from the American Spectator from last night...
“...And now, Carl Cameron of Fox News is reporting the National Republican Senatorial Committee will not be helping the official nominee of the Delaware Republican Party for the United States Senate in her Senate campaign.”
And from the Wall Street Journal:
“The National Republican Senatorial Committee does not plan to spend money on its Delaware Senate nominee, Christine ODonnell, an NRSC official said tonight... The official noted that if her position improves, the committee might reconsider its allocation of scarce resources.”
Now do away before I . . .
(well you know the drill)
Last night Brett Baier on Fox News cut into Greta’s show and said that the NSRC had made a statement that they would not support O’Donnell, that the money would be better spent elsewhere. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
How much does Cornyn and his cronies pocket from NRSC fundraising?
