Tea Party Express Celebrates Successful Primary Season
The Tea Party Express celebrated another election victory tonight, marking the end to a very successful primary campaign season.
Below is a list of those who weve endorsed as heroes or spent money.
The Tea Party Express also targeted a number of candidates who ultimately ended up losing/retiring. We launched a $250,000 Defeat Bart Stupak campaign and brought our Tea Party Express 3-bus convoy into his district with 6 tea party rallies in his congressional district (the most weve ever held in a politicians district).
After spending $60,000 on radio and TV ads, Stupak announced his retirement, right while we were in the middle of a rally against him in Escanaba, MI (in the Upper Peninsula, and again in Stupaks district). We announced we were targeting Arlen Specter, and produced a TV ad for Pat Toomey, and then Specter left the GOP and then lost in the Democrat Primary.
We also announced we were targeting Democrat Congressman Alan Mollohan of West Virginia, and he lost too. And most notably, beyond spending over $550,000 supporting Sharron Angles GOP primary campaign (launching it when she was at just 5% in the polls), weve also waged $500,000 campaign against Harry Reid and expect to spend at least several hundred thousand dollars more to defeat him too.
Heres our Heroes list of the candidates weve endorsed most of them big winners:
Great job TPX!!
But this endorsement seriously cut into the TPX’s credibility.
It was stupid and blatantly, obnoxiously, political.
Minnick responded like the Democrat he is.
We expect snakes to bite.
But why did the TPX piss on the Tea Party with an endorsement like that?
They have never answered this question. There were two more worthy candidates in the GOP primary. One of them is now Minnick’s opponent.
TPX may have thought they were bring cute and clever by endorsing a token Democrat, but they are toying with an election and real peoples’ lives.
Raul Labrador was born in Peurto Rico, and is a true Reagan conservative. TPX missed a great opportunity to endorse a great candidate. Instead they squandered it on a Nanzi Pelousy supporter, and part-time supporter of Big Government.
The race is tied, and a TPX endorsement muddied the waters.
A Labrador endorsement instead would have tipped this race towards him.
Instead, it helped an endangered Democrat cling on, and remain competitive.
What if Minnick squeaks by because of this?
What if the Republicans come up one vote short of taking the House?
What if the TPX endorsement allows Minnick to cast the tie-breaking vote that returns Nanzi Pelousy to Speaker of the House?
Hugh Hewitt wants The Tea Party Express investigated for doing this only to make money. Go figure.
I don't like the guy you are pushing, he must be horrible to have someone so smarmy as you are supporting him.
Lighten up and stop your whining.
WTF are you talking about?
It’s TPX that seems to have hijacked the Tea Party movement and take power away from local Tea Parties for themselves. I have no problems with their endorsements and support of Tea Party candidates... Until they endorsed a Democrat who did not seek Tea Party backing, and has rejected it in the rudest terms possible. Minnick, the TPX’s cozens candidate, used the opportunity to “spew venom all over TPX and tea partiers on general.”
I don’t have a candidate, but I know a foolish endorsement when I see one. You may prefer the Pelousy supporting DemocRAT over the Idaho Tea Party backed Labrador, but that sounds to me like a serious shortcoming on your part, and the part of the TPX. RINOs have lost their primaries this year over less.
I think even the good folks of the Tea Party cant completely see the rage building by normal Americans....its everywhere folks!
This has been building for yrs and it wont stop.
Yesterday at the Medellin Int. Airport I was standing in line talking with a fellow American and this guy , like so many, was REALLY PO’d with the RINOs and DC elites.
There is a tidal wave coming and nothing will stop it!
“You have grossly overstated the effect he has had on the TPX and other tea partiers.
Hes nothing, dont let it worry you.”
We should drop him - if he’s now insulting the TPX/us!
“The race is tied, and a TPX endorsement muddied the waters.
A Labrador endorsement instead would have tipped this race towards him.”
This NEEDS to change. There’s time to change it. Who cares if the lame stream propagandists say TPX is not ‘bi-partisan.’ Who gives a RIP about the RAT socialists among us? I know I don’t!
This is important, but nationally, on a scale of 1 to 10 - this is about a 5. I sure hope they do something about it though.
Meantime, let’s go and support Raul:
“Hugh Hewitt wants The Tea Party Express investigated for doing this only to make money. Go figure.”
Can we also investiage Hugh for faithfully supporting RINOs? LOL.
investiage = investigate
“I don’t like the guy you are pushing”
Wow - what are you talking about Syncro? Are you looking for ‘yes’ men around here, or real political discourse?
Look the Tea Party is not about agreeing 100% of the time.
Now that Minnick has stabbed the TP in the back, it would behoove the TP to confront the people who made the poor decision to support the snake. I'd like to know who did it and what roles they play in the TP. They wasted our money, effort and good will on that one. Mistakes can be made as long as they are recognized as mistakes and provide a lesson to those who screwed up and those who permitted them to screw up. Whatever they were thinking turned out to be stupid and needs to be avoided in the future. At the same time, we must keep errors in perspective of the overall success of the organization.
Rinos and greed subverted every conservative organization while we were being “good sports” and voting for the lessor evil. In the mean time we had few conservative ideas, agenda for reform nor candidates with a mission. Rinos were not at all concerned about us...they owned us.
Fantastic job you all did, Syncro!
You lit the fire that’s growing nationwide
to take our country back!
God bless and protect you all!
I am so glad to be a member of the TEA party. This is EXACTLY the right way to think about it. Rock on, boys and girls!
Well Done!!! BUT... the hard work is just now beginning!
This is fabulous. Seeing a grassroots movement succeed so well since the Revolution.
Thankfully unlike the French we don’t have to resort to using a guillotine.
