Rebecca Bradford, President of Texas Federation of Republican Women TFRW.ORG sent out the following statement this morning in an attempt to cover for Cornyn. I am going to respond, perhaps others might wish to as well.

“We all know and respect Senator Cornyn and in our hearts know he would not do anything to hurt the candidacy of any Republican. I understand some of our members and others were upset that a confusing message was released regarding the Delaware Senatorial Primary. Please explain to your friends and neighbors, who may not know the Senator as we do, that when we hear news releases or comments on television and the radio we need to pause and watch for complete information before we jump to conclusions.

We also know that when incomplete information is released to the public as casual comments there are people “out there” ready and willing to jump on that information to pass it along and further confuse the situation and the voters.

We are all concerned; we all want Republican candidates to win offices at all levels of government. Our very future depends on this. . . .don’t be led astray by those who are trying to mislead you. Thanks for your vigilance.

Cornyn’s “well, then....we’ll have to have a pow-wow” comment was some off-the-cuff, out-of-the-elevator comment.

I don’t know what he really meant, nor what drives him day to day.

What I do know is that he’s done some good work in the past, and I see a lot more “republican guns” turned around on him than are being aimed at reid and/or Obama today.

Pessimist, it’s the law, man. Have you not given to political candidates in the last 15 years?

You can put anything on there. It is not as if they are going to check you out. It’s the law that they ask those questions.

You’ve never made a political donation have you.

Its federal law that she has to collect that information.

Dear Friends:

I’m writing to thank you for working so hard to save this great country. Yesterday, I asked you to help us raise support for Christine O’Donnell who is running to the U.S. Senate Delaware. Like always, you responded.

We set a goal of raising $174,000 for her campaign over the next week, which is the amount of “coordinated” money national Republicans could spend helping her but won’t. Thanks to your generosity, the Senate Conservatives Fund was able to raise $150,000 for Christine’s campaign in just 24 hours. At this pace, we will reach our goal of $174,000 very soon. You can track our up-to-the-minute progress by clicking here.

I also wanted to send you a link to one of many television interviews I did yesterday about the Delaware race and the ongoing battle that’s taking place within the Republican Party. Click here to watch the video.

Following Christine O’Donnell’s historic win on Tuesday, the Washington establishment launched an all out assault against me for supporting this principled candidate. They say she can’t win and that by supporting her, I’ve helped lose the seat for Republicans.

Well, I’ve been in the majority with Republicans who didn’t have principles, and we embarrassed ourselves and lost credibility in front of the country. Frankly, I’m at a point where I’d rather lose fighting for the right cause than win fighting for the wrong cause.

Help SCF Elect Christine O’Donnell

Of course, these attacks are really against you and the thousands of freedom-loving Americans in Delaware who supported Christine, but the Beltway insiders know better than to publicly criticize you. This is what one anonymous Republican aide told the press yesterday:

“If on Nov. 3 there are two or three seats in Democratic control that otherwise would have been Republican victories, then that anger will come back up to the surface and there will be consequences,” said one aide, declining to cite specific punishments DeMint might face.

I’m not certain what “consequences” this unnamed person has in mind. They can’t use their usual political power tactics to strip me of committee chairmanships or deny me earmarks because I do not seek either.

What they will do, however, is continue to insult the American people through cowardly anonymous attacks in the press. It makes no difference. I did not come to Washington to make friends. Rather, I came to save our country and I’ve learned you can’t do it without rocking the boat.

That’s why we need to work hard to elect Christine O’Donnell. She’s not afraid of the party bosses or the Washington power brokers. She will stand up to the big spenders is both political parties and help us take our country back.

Help SCF Elect Christine O’Donnell

But make no mistake: Christine won’t win unless we fight for her. National Republicans are not going to invest real money in this race and her primary opponent, Rep. Mike Castle, is refusing to endorse her.

The dirty little secret in Washington is that the establishment is quietly rooting for Christine to lose so they can continue to peddle their discredited line that conservatives cannot win. They mistakenly believe that a single defeat in Delaware will discredit the work we have done this year to elect principled leaders in Pennsylvania, Florida, Colorado, Kentucky, Utah, Nevada, Wisconsin, Washington, and Alaska. They are wrong. We can win in Delaware too and prove them wrong once again.

But this won’t be easy. Christine O’Donnell was leading her Democrat opponent in the polls by a significant margin until the party establishment began attacking her. They’ve done great damage to her image in the state but we can restore it. Many voters have already rejected the smear campaign against her and we can convince others to reject it too.

Please forward this email and video to your contact lists and encourage your family and friends to join the fight. There are only seven weeks remaining before the biggest election of our lifetime. We need everyone to help.

Also, please consider making a contribution to the Senate Conservatives Fund PAC today so we have the resources to fight the battles the establishment won’t. We’ve shown in race after race that we can elect principled leaders because there is power in numbers. We don’t have the special interests behind us, but we do have an army of freedom-loving Americans.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.

Yours truly,
Jim DeMint Signature

I feel kind of special, having voted for her and given her some of my money. It’s not often that a vote in central Delaware makes a difference nationally.

All federal candidates are legally required to obtain such information from contributors to their campaigns. You should refuse to donate if they *don’t* ask for that information (since you’d be aiding the candidate in the commission of a crime).

I just remember the remorse people had over Scott Brown after they insisted on ignoring what he was upfront about: he was a wishywashy moderate.

I have no remorse whatsoever and no regrets for donating to his campaign. I knew exactly what he was but that was not the point for my giving. The Tea Party movement had a strong message to the world in that election and we made it. We make a new one almost daily.

The funny part of all this is that none of the beltway insiders get it. There is no Tea Party. The Tea Party movement is "We the People" and we're coming to take our country back!
