Murkowski supporters: come to "campaign kickoff" tonight - write in campaign a go?
Anchorage Daily News ^ | 091710

Lisa Murkowski supporters are urging people to come out tonight for what’s being called a “campaign kick off,” although her campaign manager isn’t ready to say that she’s decided to run.

Bonnie Jack, who was a Murkowski campaign elections observer for the count of absentee votes, sent out an email this morning. “Join us at the Kick-off of Senator Lisa's campaign -- with a theme of "write in her name in and fill in the oval."

"Denai'na Convention Center, third floor and hopefully out on the sunny deck, 5 pm. Bring your family including children, friends and business associates. We plan to make history!”

Jack confirmed to me that she sent the email, and indicated that obviously the conclusion to be drawn from it is that Murkowski is running.

The NRSC isn’t going to support Murkowski directly, but you can bet Cornyn is going to privately line up donors. He’s also going to do the bare minimum for Miller, O’Donnell, Rand Paul, Angle, Rubio, Buck, Mike Lee, and DioGuardi.

Yes.
The RINOs are going to put down the rebellion.
They’d rather the Republican Party lose than the Tea Party rebellion win.

This is truly madness. I think they just don’t understand our steely resolve. Now let’s watch Miller’s campaign coffers explode just like O’Donnell’s did.

Murkowski running is like setting up a roadblock in front of Godzilla.

I only hope that Mike Castle also decides to run as an independent.
O’Donnell already got more votes than him once.
She’ll get all the conservatives, and Castle and Coons can split the liberals.

So the plan is to get her staffers and friends to run a write in campaign so Murkowski can keep her position in the Republican party?

That’s really bad politics. :(

But this is Obamaland....

Actually, I think "the plan is to get her staffers and friends to run a write in campaign so Murkowski can keep her position in the" United States Senate. These folks don't care about parties.

Just found your post. Moocowski was also surrounded by the public sector leech unions(like the NEA). That is bound to split the dems more than the republicans. Could we be watching a chess match here?

There can’t be two Republicans in the race.
That should read Lisa Murkowski (I-AK).

And the GOP needs to move quickly to strip her of her affilliation, all committees, and funding.

She is running against the Republican candidate now, and the party must do everything it can to help their nominee and not aid outside threats to the party.

This will be a test of the GOP, whether or not it deserves continued existence at all.

I was listening to her speech on the radio during my drive home (had to work a little late). Not very impressive, she took a swipe at Palin when she said “she was one Republican woman who wasn’t quitting on Alaska” She also said Miller was an “extremist” but didn’t elaborate. Her speech was very self-serving and dis-jointed.

A friend of mine who is a teacher said the local Teacher’s Union helped organize the crowd and the event had to be delayed an hour because they couldn’t round up enough people willing to go. I guess the crowd at her event was pretty small and made up of union nimrods and natives who are dependent on government programs. The radio commentary was that the crowd was vocal near microphones and cameras to make it seem they were larger in number. As Jed Clampett used to say: “Pitiful, just Pitiful”.

She needs to get her RINO ROLODEX out and call Gov Charlie Crist in Florida and ask him hows the 3rd party canidate thing is working?

Rubio is walking away in the polls, if anything Charlie is not getting any GOP voters in the polls, he’s pulling peeps from the Democrat running. And in the local tv and radio the Dem is atacking Charlie Crist and not the frontrunner Rubio.

I say this time and again. The Tea Party Movement IMHO has done its job to perfection, it has elimiated many RINO’s from the GOP. Did they get all of them? No. Some survived but RINO’s now know their days are numbered and it might help those RINOs like McCain that survived to “Stay on the true Conservative Path”

The MSM Media, oh so desperate to assist the Dems are going nuts over Tea Party Canidates. They dont understand that the public is in a total ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT mood, from both sides of the isle. And when Nov 2 rolls around only one side of the ticket will offer that.

This is where 527s come in. A couple good whacks against Lisa from “unaffiliated” outsiders would do wonders quelling any enthusiastic rats trying to sabotage Miller with a 3rd party candidate.

Behold the pitiful RINO trying to defend the indefensible. I'm contributing to Joe Miller's campaign today.

. . .Miller called a news conference for early Friday evening to speak to Alaska media about Murkowski's announcement, but then canceled it so that he could appear on the Greta Van Susteren show on Fox News. He then addressed the media and supporters after 10 p.m., calling on Murkowski backers and Democrats to join his campaign, which he described as being about getting control of the state's resources from the federal government.

Miller said on the Fox show, according to a transcript, that Murkowski is not a person of character, saying she went back on her word on the Friday before the primary election that she'd respect the will of primary voters. He also told Van Susteren that, after the primary, Murkowski left him a "nasty voice mail."

Murkowski acknowledged that she had said at a Kenai debate before the primary that she'd respect the electorate and support the winner.

"I regret that statement. I regret that I made that statement. It was made before I became aware of the last-minute mudslinging, the name-calling, the outright fabrications and lies," Murkowski said in her Friday speech announcing her candidacy.

“quelling any enthusiastic rats trying to sabotage Miller with a 3rd party candidate.”

3rd party race is not working out so well even in less Conservative FL. AK Conservatives and Republicans should be fine if they stick to their principles.
