Rove Rage

Election '10: An iconic pundit and strategist takes heat for his election night analysis of a Tea Party victory in Delaware. Can we now focus on those who are really leading America over the cliff?

Karl Rove's political street cred is beyond dispute. He's the guru who, to the dismay of Democrats and liberals still clinging to their hanging chads, guided that cowboy from Texas, George W. Bush, to the White House — twice. When he speaks, people listen.

On Fox News last Tuesday, Rove ran off a laundry list of everything that's wrong with Christine O'Donnell, the candidate backed by the Tea Party Express and Sarah Palin who won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware. The Democrats, he said, would pick her apart on personal "issues" such as how she paid off her college loans.

The reaction from the "angry mobs" that became the Tea Party movement was fast and furious. Many thought Rove's remarks would be a good commercial for O'Donnell's Democratic opponent in November, Chris Coons.

Rove could have better spent the time marveling at the political force that has propelled Joe Miller in Alaska, Sharron Angle in Nevada and now O'Donnell to victory against entrenched political interests. An unelectable Scott Brown, R-Mass., now sits in the "Kennedy seat" in the U.S. Senate and the unelectable Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is poised to join what promises to be a most interesting GOP caucus in that same body.

Rove is NOT one of the “good” guys. He is a RINO, establishment republican whose sole claim to fame is putting another establishment republican into the white house. That’s it and all. He’s a legend in his own mind, period.

Welcome to the real world, my friend. It’s great to see things as they ARE and not as some party hack wants you to see them.

No, he just wanted Castle to win, and is totally upset that the TeaParty has made him and his buddies irrelevant.

It can be argued that Washington voters nominated the more moderate candidate in Rossi over Clint Didier. According to Rove and the other Rino hacks’ theories, that alone should guarantee a GOP landslide. Washington and Delaware aren't that different in voting patterns.

“Maybe Rove is a “magnificent bastard” after all. just maybe?”

Nice try. He’s a bastard all right, but there’s nothing magnificent about him.

I expect Rove is getting paid, and paid well, by Country Club Republicans. It’s time to take a back seat for a while, Carl.

Maybe you are right and he sees his income dropping after his divorce. So if he becomes part of the establishment he can still earn some easy money. Like I said , it just seemed odd for him to go crazy , but I guess it happens.

Rove could have better spent the time marveling at the political force that has propelled Joe Miller in Alaska, Sharron Angle in Nevada and now O'Donnell to victory against entrenched political interests.

The problem is that Rove himself, mastermind of RINOS, is one of those "entrenched political interests".

The GOP has divided into two camps: The ones who want change and a end of go along to get along and the appeasers who only want to keep their power no matter if they betray the rank and file Republicans.
The Appeasers reminds one of the nobles in “Braveheart” who dont want to fight Longshanks because they want to keep their titles and land. They fought Wallace more than they fought Longshanks and in the end turned in a bunch of Judases.
Time to take back the GOP and kick the RINOS out.

Rove is just ticked off because the base is finally finding out he wasn’t a genius while working for W, just lucky.

On what bases does anyone assign political genius to Rove?

He generated a lot of Conservative support and donations for O'Donnell that she wouldn't have otherwise had and kept the tea party base fired up?

On the surface I don't like what he did to O'Donnell.

His "genius" is certainly not for things that went on in the Bush years when he was an advisor to Bush. For example, Bush signing McCain-Feingold, Bush's nomination of Harriet Miers, Bush's push for amnesty, the part of Bush's tax cuts that greatly increased the percentage of people who pay no income tax, etc.

Rove is, was, and always will be a RINO. Think what you want about President Bush as a person, but the fact is that the Bush/Rove team did a very thorough job of demoralizing and discrediting conservatives and conservatism. Rove was behind much of the BS that got the Republicans kicked out in 2006 and 2008. The whole “compassionate conservative” schtick was designed to hide the fact that they were massive government loving RINOs. Now Rove is trying to destroy conservatives again. How does that make him “one of the good guys?”

This type of thing will ensure that the Republicans will not win anything in November due to voter disgust with them. As a party organization, the Republicans suck really bad. The only reason they will win anything is because the alternative is worse. But the people that believe that, will just won’t vote. People want to vote for what they perceive as winners not losers. If you wont support you own nominees, you are losers.

The question I would ask Rove, Krauthammer, and the rest who are knocking O’Donnell and other “unelectable” conservatives is: what is the point of having a party in the first place? If you just run candidates who are barely distinguishable from their liberal opponents, what is the point. You have a party because you have a certain philosophy. If it is a tough sell to many voters, so be it. It does no good to elect liberal Republicans.

Bush is gone. Thank goodness. He led to Obama, with Rove’s advise driving the engine. It’s what Rove does. Sorry.

Rove’s one of the good guys.

You have got to be kidding. This guy is an out-of-control lunatic who is publicly trashing his own party's nominee on national television, and you say he's a "good guy"???

That's absurd.
