Russia will supply around 72 P-800 Yakhont anti-ship cruise missiles to Syria for mobile coastal defence systems under a deal worth $300 million, ignoring the strong opposition from the US and Israel.
"Damascus is counting on receiving at least two 'Bastion' coastal defence systems. Since each system can include up to 36 Yakhont missiles, it is an order of a significant size," an unnamed defence industry source was quoted as saying by Interfax.

The sale is apparently for 72 qty model 800 missiles. It reads like 800 qty missiles.
But hey, who does the Indian media learn from?
It is my belief that the US has developed “better” countermeasures superior to Phalanx against these AS missiles, but these are very formidable weapons and I’m not entirely confident that our countermeasures would be entirely effective against a swarm of these things.
The Yakhont is called the P-800.

Russia’s moving fast, Syria, Iran, China as well. They know this administration is weak and will not do more than rebuke them, if even that. So the push is on to get as much in place during BO’s time in office. Expect to see allot more going on in the next couple years....they have this window while Bo is in office and will continue their push.
